Karndean flooring... any experience?

Am moving into a new build in a few months and am thinknig about Karndean flooring. Most reviews seem to be really good but there are odd ones now and again saying that it's been hard to maintain. The alternative for us (downstairs) is laminate and the cost is working out to be similar enough.

Has anyone got this/ had it for a while?
Do you like it? Does it wear well?

I had Karndean Lancewood, flooring put in my lounge in 2011. Within a short time, part of the stripes started coming away from the screeding They came out and replaced the strips. However, since then more has come away in the same area and other parts of my lounge. They are gradually raising up as if they have round air pockets under them. Also, in another area, the strips have turned a green colour. I called the shop that fitted it several times last year. Eventually someone came out just before this Christmas gone, from Karndean and the shop and took pictures and measured the level the flooring had risen. I am still waiting the result! I have contacted the shop several times and Karndean twice, today being the second time in a week and they say they are going to contact the shop to see if they mind if they tell me direct what is in the report, as Karndean do not deal directly with the public, which I feel is a cop out. I would highy recommend Degalo. This is the same principle as Karndean, but a much better brand. tougher and does not scratch and when fitted stays down. Where Karndean does show scratches, even though the shop will tell you it is scratch proof.

Hi

We had Karndean Flooring Knight Tile fitted in our kitchen. We purchased the flooring from a company called Flooring HUT, who had a great price and delivered on-time. The Karndean was then fitted by our fitter. It's stood the test of time!

Karndean knight tile here through whole house last year & really not very happy. Not perfectly fitted although done by a local independent Co. who over promised & under delivered. Had them out about 6 times now & it still looks rubbish. The tile itself has no bevel as I didn't want textured finish to gather dirt etc, but it shows up every imperfection in the ply subfloor (which was feather coated first) and doesn't therefore seem at all smooth and elegant. Corners raising too.

I am so disappointed.

I have had [[http://www.wendyscurtains.co.uk/static/
karndean flooring]] fitted. It is fantastic, it looks amazing much better than laminate flooring but you do need to maintain it properly, it really is worht the maintenance, because it looks very nice!

Does anyone know of a good luxury vinyl tile layer in the Blackpool/Fylde area?

We have just had Karndean Art Select planks fitted in kitchen which looks great. Unfortunately, on the second day after fitting the dog slipped and damaged his cruciate ligament and was operated on the next day. Wish there had been a warning that some Karndean, although not slippery for humans is not suitable for dogs. The kitchen now has rugs all over.

I have Art Select in hallway six years and just had the parquet one in the dining room. I also have one of the cheaper ranges in the bathroom.

The fitter is everything, really it is.

I love the stuff, the dining room is simply stunning.
