Galen - so sorry that your FiL is so poorly, sounds like it is going to be a difficult time ahead for the next few months

Hi to everyone else, sorry not been good at keeping up.

done 3 cakes this week got one more to do tonight for pick up tomorrow.
taken on too much and it has been stressing me out bless him DH has been taking the strain.

will try to get back later.

swanriver · 20/02/2009 18:07

I am very impressed Greyskull.
The mess seems worse when one gets home Scatty (or maybe that's just me) & how brave to survive a car breakdown with dcs; were you were another adult? Did you have rescue cover?

We have had an undirected pm but did a certain amount of freshair running around, computertime and dd went to visit a friend for a long play.

Now we are having a topsyturvey sleepover - dcs in our bedroom and us somewhere else in house.

evening all

galen nothing i can say to comfort, but am thinking of you and your family xx

we didnt go to the museum in th eend as my friend was poorly. so we went to watch bolt intstead. there is so much on that they want to see at the moment, need to find some more cheap deals. as it just cost me £15 to get in thank god for my student card or would have been more

had a good housework day, did all my list from this morning plus washed all the floors.

i need to get up early and organised tomorrow. have ds new bed and my matress being delivered between 9 and 10 am. so will need to get to the dump with the old ones tomorrow at some point. am very impressed with delivery, i ordered from argos a month ago who in the week phoned to say my delayed delivery is delayed more, til april. so i cancelled it. went to a small independent bed shop on weds, what i wanted needed to be ordered in yet can still be delivered 3 days later.
cant wait it is a lovely soft mattress, i always cantwait til bedtime, canimagine i will be worse than usual tomorrow

Hello Ladies Galen Can I wish you and your family every strength for this difficult time and to let you know you're in my thoughts. All other words seem hopelessly meaningless.

Thanks to all for your kind comments about Ed's dyspraxia diagnosis. It is good to know that people are there when you need to get your head round things.

Had a really truly lovely family day today. We took Ed to toysaurus, bought him a Lego power miner, went to chiquitos for lunch and then the cinema to see Bolt. It was Ed's 1st time at the cinema and he sat quietly, had minimal fussing and, every one was in a good mood at the end of a long day

Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be as positive.

As I'm out tomorrow I did some morning FLYing and I've done some of tomorrow's when I got home.

So see you around this weekend

Wolfcub · 20/02/2009 19:12

evening all scatty what a nightmare - did you have breakdown cover?

greyskull your cakes look fab, actually I love all your photos and am very envious of your skills.

luda great to see you, how is sunny wales - I miss it very much

ehm poor ellie, if you have the energy I would write and complain to advertising standards if not to the company itself, if a product makes a claim it should fulfil it

Grouchy - I forgot to say yesterday - I always find a label helps me. Gives some kind of reality to things and also, more importantly, will help other people to understand.

wendyredredrobin · 20/02/2009 19:48

Hello everyone
scatty glad you had a good time, nice to have you back. I echo the bravery with car break down!!
Mad Glad new bed is good - it took us a week to get used to ours. how was ikea and what did you buy? well you can just tell me tomorrow
grouchy you sound really positive today
dyls enjoy your bed too!
luda lovely to see you
wolf how's the flood?
waves to everyone else
All those who's seen it - how is Bolt? DS (4) hasn't been to the cinema yet and hasn't even seen a film! We have tried with Madagascar (didn't like the scary bits) and Ratatouille (lasted 10 minutes but the beginning is dull) and Toy Story (didn't like Buzz Lightyear!) - any recommendations for films for sensitive 4 year olds?

EustaciaVye · 20/02/2009 19:50

wendy - try something like the heffalump movie (winnie the pooh). Its a lovely story and they will be characters he probably recognises. I find most disney type films have a scary character in them. Or if he likes Dora or Diego they do 1 hour episodes.

wendyredredrobin · 20/02/2009 20:21

thanks ev. we don't do dora or diego (what is that?!) but will try this heffalump movie. You're right, he doesn't seem to like the scary character! Bless.
have a good date night all.

TheMadHouse · 20/02/2009 21:29

Evening all

Late night, we had a nice day, didnt buy anything from Ikea - was very disappointed, but DH wasnt

Anyway - I must spend some time with DH

swanriver · 20/02/2009 23:55

Wendy, ds2 didn't really like films in cinema at that age either. Too loud and too long. Still hates Dr Who and Merlin as boring and incomprehensible.
He loves a film called Thomas and the Magic Railroad on dvd (it has actors and trains not just trains).
He just about tolerates 'Enchanted' which you and dd would probably love (on DVD)because it has a lot of slapstick comedy tho some frightening bits at end.
Will try and think of some more favs tomorrow - if you are after dvd titles rather than current releases.

Up late as just back from drinks with friend
