Hi everyone - I want to do a lot of batch cooking for the freezer before baby no 2 arrives end of April. Where do you buy your containers from and what type? Looking for reusuable basic containers that will hold 2 portions of e.g. stews, lasagne, soup etc. I've been using freezer bags but they tend to split or mould themselves around the freezer rack / other stuff and become immovable! Thanks

I mainly use these Stack-a-Boxes. The size B seems to fit a good two portion of stew/pasta sauce/chilli etc.

I use the ones that you can buy either in the Poundshop, or the supermarket. They're either 5 or 10 for £1 in Poundland, slightly more in the supermarket. They're the same ones that you get from takeaways sometimes. I buy 30 or so at a time and then they mix and match if lids or bases crack. They last ages and microwave / go through the dishwasher without any problems.

I get the 'click' lidded ones from M&S. They come in a set of 3 for £5 and last for yonks. Otherwise I get the cheapo use and throw ones from kitchen shops - the lids always seem to crack so are good for some things.

If you use freezer bags pop the food into the bad whilst sitting it in a nice square shaped container. When you freeze it it will come out square so just pop it in the freezer, wait until it is solid then pop the container off. The you can stack them nicely!

I bought a fab set of pyrex ones from Costco recently. They come in all different shapes and sizes with there own lids. So you can take them straight out of the freezr, remove lid and bung in oven, fab for things like lasagne, shepherds pie etc that gets all mushed if you decant it.
