"Grouchy has the capacity to identify creative solutions to complex problems, without losing sight of what is considered important to all parties involved"

Might be a bit wordy

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2009 20:28

evening all
just a quick check in really, not much fly done here today.
i have tidied and hoovered, made dinner and washed up.
i did do the kitchen bin earlier i like it when i do the missions before i check what the mission is.

am off to make lunches for tomorrow in a mo and discover whats for dinner- forgotten to menu plan so will see what i find when i open the freezer- whatever is at the top wins!

also need to get on with my essay, i spent 2 and a half hours i the library writing it earlier and only managed 200 words, it is so slow to develop this one am waiting til i get a flash of inspiration and get in my flow, it just doesnt seem to be happening for this one

swan (or any one else that may know) ds used to go to cubs a few years ago and is considering going back- when they are 10 are they cubs, scouts - or something else??

i like ruby and ev statements for grouchy i agree with them, am not feeling very creative to add anything wonderful but i think grouchy is a highly motivated indivdual who works hard to acheive her goals

grouchyoscar · 09/02/2009 20:53

Awh shucks folks thank you all for your niceness. Believe me I intend to use them in the statement. I must admit the whole application thing is making more sense as I plod on rather than panicking to do it all at once

DH freezing at a football match, Ed did 2 chunks of school work so he got Wii time while I tackled the app

Night all you good good people

EustaciaVye · 09/02/2009 21:17

Grouchy - is it a CV you are writing or an application form. If CV I am happy to review it (used to see lots). Let me know.

evening all,

have been foolish and eaten a quiche that was a week out of date.. am sitting here feeling sick

GO the things that the ladies have written sound spot on - sorry am not good with words.

What are you studying Dyls?

swanriver · 09/02/2009 21:39

Dylsmum, you can look on scout website (not sure what link is) but obvious name like "scouting.com". and maybe they will tell the exact age groups. I do know that in my son's Cubs they range from just 8 (yr 3)to 10 year olds (yr 5's) so I suppose 11 year olds go to Scouts. After Scouts I think it is Adventurers. Can you tell I am not very clued up on subject, just do a bit of manual labour at Beavers really...must investigate the whole hierarchy /mission statement a bit more carefully.

Dd doesn't want to be a Beaver anymore alas as she hates dodgeball LOL (wouldn't anyone) wants a Brownie uniform and I was hoping ds2 could be swopped for her and sent in disguise, but unfortunately at 6 years he is NOT a teamplayer. Maybe he will be won over after a few weeks of saluting. The Beaver leader is the most lovely lady who tries to really let the boys play energetically, and develop lots of skills, self discipline and confidence through playing together.

Good night ladies.

swanriver · 09/02/2009 21:42

The quiche will be fine, if it was baked for long enough, Greyskull. My mother always eats things which are weeks past their sellbydate and has never suffered...

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2009 21:47

greyskull i am doing early childhood studies. its interesting but very hard going this year, i keep getting stuck on how to start the work, usually ok when i get going.
hope the quiche doesnt make you very poorly, and you sick it up not a nice thought, but if you sick it, then it cant make you feel very ill ( i think!!)

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2009 21:50

swan thank you. will try that he is year 5 at mo so may just catch tail end or cubs
also hope you are right for greyskull much more optimistic than my take on these things!!

swanriver · 09/02/2009 21:59

Dylsmum.www.scouts.org.uk
have never looked on it before!

Jas · 09/02/2009 22:19

Evening. Only read the tail end of the thread....

Dylsmum, if he is already 10 you would be best going straight to scouts. DD1 at 9 is almost the oldest in Brownies.

Swan - If your dd does Brownies, I have trousers here going begging (FFP). DD1 grows too quickly!

Greyskull - Did it taste bad? Or did you only start feeling sick once you saw the date? If the latter, you'll be fine. If the former, then better out than in!

dylsmum1998 · 09/02/2009 23:00

thanks all for your help re scouts, it says on the website form i filled in then he could either go to cubs or scouts, i need to talk to the district commisioner to decide between us which would be best, am suspecting scouts as he was 10 in oct so is almost old enough for scouts (website says 10 and a half).
so will talk to him about it tomorrow when he'll hopefully be in a better mood than he was tonight i sent him to bed at 7, he was asleep by the time i peeped in at 8 so must have needed it.
then phone a nd discuss with the district commisioner depending on ds's views.
i think it would be good for him as he doesnt socialise outside of school think thats where some of the strops are coming from, boredom.

out of curisoty as she is too small yet, when does rainbows etc start for dd??
