Ev: Nice to "see" you ...you're very glam !

I've done sod all today .. kick me if you see me again in the next hour

Hi Bianca
Hi Wolf

I am doing ok. Trying to find my way round MN . Dressings were taken off my wounds yesterday and the nurse said they have healed well. Still a bit sore but she said i need to take it much easier and not do so much. Probably didn't help by taking the kids up a big hill to go sledging! Shame i couldn't have a go! Also snowman building! Bending down is quite painful.

We did have snow over night but not enough to close schools today. But just seen the weather forecast and we may get more over night tonight/tomorrow!! i love the snow! We so rarely get any. DS1 is 11 and had his first ever go at sledging!

swanriver · 05/02/2009 13:54

Best wishes, Tortoise. Yes, I want to keep a sledge in the attic from now on. It seems a worthwhile investment with two boys. Unless they could make one themselves in D & T.. eventually.
Are you taking arnica tablets? They really help, and lots of garlic bread? (are you allowed butter)

swanriver · 05/02/2009 13:58

Just put on radio which was tuned to kids radio with some exquisite lullaby by chopin or suchlike (naptime?) and then moved to classic fm in search of Greyskull like harmony only to find some marching tune. Clearly we grownups are supposed to be bustling around not resting. Anyway marching upstairs now.

Tortoise · 05/02/2009 14:05

Swan We used an inflatable boat and ring lol! Don't have a sledge. Will invest in one as soon as i can!
Not taking any tabs. Well other than pain killers if needed!

no that sounds perfect. I'm sure she was very very grateful for clothes etc, and that you saved her loads of £ by donation so don't feel too guilty.

EustaciaVye · 05/02/2009 17:28

Sag - thanks. You wouldnt think I was glam if you could see me now.

That's really nice Ruby. Accept it gracefully and put more £ towards your weekend fund.

ShannaraTiger · 05/02/2009 17:28

Hi Tort glad you're doing ok and recovering well.
Ruby keep the money and buy them a present on the weekend escape maybe.
TMH we've had rain here to I've had enough of ice and snow. Living on the top of a hill it's not much fun when pushing a buggy, we did all enjoy it Monday though.

Not much FLYing done. Will try to do better tomorrow - i.e. if any one sees me on FB tell me to do some work - PLEASE.

I've now got to go and do bath and hair washing

Have a good evening everyone
BBL

EustaciaVye · 05/02/2009 17:45

Glad the op went well Tort. Once you have got over this initial recovery you will feel so much better

Tortoise · 05/02/2009 18:51

It is good to be back.
House looks like a bombs gone off! But not much i can do about it all yet.

TheMadHouse · 05/02/2009 20:03

Hi all Tort really good to see you back and that you are taking it easy. (NO SLEDGING!)

ruby the money is for you! she wouldn't have done it if she thought you would give it back. I would put it towards a girlie weekend and send her a card saying thank you.

Loads of people I have missed - HUGE HI! to everyone.

I am loving the idea of having different treats for the boys, they have sweets once or twice a week, The reward chart we have at the moment
10 stars = 20p sweets on Saturday
20 stars = Cbeebies magazine on Saturday
50 Stars = going to Dim Sum in town on Sunday

They have a possible 6 stars a day and the Dim Sum target is joint for both boys combined.

I think I am going to buy some little bits from Hawkin's Bazaar to have as a replacement for the 20p sweets.

Trying to fly remote from the thread at the mo - Lots going on in my head so not doing too well with keeping up with you all. Sorry.

ah ruby - I guess your Mums were friends when you were babies then - You can't be that old

Wolfcub · 05/02/2009 20:33

evening all

mad glad the casserole was good

done
wm loaded and run
sink shone
dusted staircase, stair side of all upstairs doors and frames and our bedroom
had lovely HOT shower!!! smell much better now
took mum out for coffee and a bun (although she paid this time) and discussed the ds hitting her incident in a roundabout way talked about some of dyls tips
picked ds up from nursery where they said what a lovely gentle well behaved intelligent little boy he was and [preen]
went to sainsbos to do next weeks mini shop and get a few household bits we were short of
put shopping away
made tea for ds
sorted through post tray into bin, recycle, shred, action and file
read bedtime story to ds and put more toys away
just making roasted pepper and mozzarella pasta for tea - should have read recipe properly before scheduling it for a weeknight, it takes a surprising amount of time

Am watching mastershout and like mad I will be aiming for an early night, dp woke me up at 4 this morning and then just as I was falling back to sleep at 5.30 ds woke me up [snore]

Wolfcub · 05/02/2009 20:47

FUCKIT - burnt the pasta sauce I have been making for the last 2 hours -ggggggrrrrrr, dp is now making sandwiches.

mad are you sure that's my recipe? I've just done a search to see which one I'd put on but no joy

swanriver · 05/02/2009 21:51

A slightly useless day I fear. Felt defeated by kids' moods and my own perhaps we should all have just gone home and hid under duvet...

Done
Food shopping
Put away shopping and cleaned out fridge dishcloths
laundry and put away
swept floor
swept hall
made kids' beds (not going to change sheets till Monday - defiant emotion)
Went to work for two hours - good
Confirmed ds1's sedated dental appt for next week (be warned all sweet eaters)
s & s a bit

Took kids to barber for haircut to defeat nits.
Serious opposition to the expedition despite numerous biscuits, barber's lollipops
dd screaming she wanted to go the ladies hairdresser to have her hair straightened..
Tantrums. followed by TV
Tasty meal cooked and eaten up to a point...
Dh has gone to bed after watching Dr Who with Ds1 as a reward for tantrum and haircut

Made up very long story for dd

Ah well, not so bad really. Just need to clear up now.

swanriver · 05/02/2009 21:55

Wolfcub - he sounds like you said, Gorgeous!!!

Jas · 05/02/2009 22:09

Hello

No FLYing

Ruby - Girly escape fund sounds like the perfect use for the money Then you both benefit.
I have known my bf for about the same amount of time. If I want to feel old, I remember the fact that we were at school together 25 years ago!

Tort - Nice to see you up and about, and getting better. Just don't overdo it....she says t the mum of 4

Not much happening here. Hoping for no snow tonight so I can take ds to toddler group in the am. DP is making progress with the bathroom All taps connected and no leaks

If it ever finishes I will share pics. I did put a snow pic of ds on my profile yesterday, too.

Wolfcub · 05/02/2009 22:16

jas snow pic is lovely and I have to say your cakes are fab I love the mouse

Jas · 05/02/2009 22:18

Thanks. It is called Didl....it is a German character that dd1 and all her friends were obsessed with last year.

EustaciaVye · 05/02/2009 22:31

weather warning here so we dont know if school is on or not tomorrow

I have a huuge crack in my windscreen so been trying to get quotes for that all day. Sigh.
