Bleaching nappies...what to use?

Having given up with washable nappies after DS1 [hanging head in shame emoticon] I have a lot of prefold nappies and quite a lot of the shaped popper terry ones (motherease) which I am planning to sell at an NCT sale soon. However on looking through them all again last night, I realised that some of them are quite stained (poo - natch) and I am therefore asking whether these (v old, washed in) stains will be succesfully removed by bleaching the nappies and then washing them...? If so, what sort of bleaching agent should I use?! Would love to sell them all but can't really put them in the sale marked as I don't think anyone would buy them, and I don't want to be dishonest about it.

Is there a blindingly good bleaching agent I can add to a regular hot wash for them or can I soak them in some cillit bang type affair for nappies...?

Don't bleach them. Would you like bleach near your own babies bottoms?

Wash them in lots of detergent, soak them first, rinse them a lot, then hang outside. Even if its drizzling, even if its snowing (I have all the dc's vests and underpants out today!) as even weak sunlight will bleach out stains.

You might have to wash and repeat a couple of times.

best thing is sunlight... but you migth have to wait a bit

Sunshine! Or failing that, daylight will fade poo stains eventually. Hang them up in your window (or lay them on the windowsill if you don't fancy them as a window display).

Have you tried adding something like soda crystals or nappy san to your wash? And then hang outside. If you are not using them, it doesn't matter if you leave them out for a few days - it is quite sunny here even in the snow. So even if it doesn't dry them and you can then put them through another wash after if you like.

I really wouldn't put bleach on them.

How much are you selling the motherease ones for? I am looking for some but on a very tight budget. Don't mind about stains.
