I've just been cleaning my toaster.
Have cleaned the outside with an eco cloth so it is all shiny.
Took out the crumb tray and washed it, then took the toaster into the garden and shook out as many loose crumbs as I could.
With cleaning toasters, is this all you are supposed to do? I ask because every time I clean it, I always feel grossed out by a permanent layer of crumbs that are burnt onto the inside of the toaster (on the shelf above the crumb tray that the toast actually sits on). I'm sure there are remains of crumbs that have been in the toaster for years - don't really know how I'd clean that bit without unscrewing the toaster though, which I'm sure would be unsafe!
Is it normal for the insides of toasters to look disgusting from years' worth of crumbs or am I being a grufty slattern?
