Certain things I just can't seem to get right....

What do you clean your skirting boards/doors with? don't really fancy painting them all again but they look a bit crappy!

Laminate floor? Mine always looks smeared.

bath sealant and the grouting around tiles? Mine discolours really quickly.

This is the worst one...have a fairly new loo but it's pure white plastic type stuff and have 2 small boys and hence they wee everywhere! Now have a line of yellow all around the inside rim of the seat (they NEVER lift it despite me going on!) and I can't find anything to get rid of it

Please help as I'm having a mad cleaning spree before DD1 arrives!!!

Bumping. I would like to hear tips on cleaning grout too.

You can buy HG Mould Remover spray from Lakeland which cleans grout, but sealant usually has to be stripped off and replaced if it has black mould stains.

Have you tried baby wipes on the skirting boards? Flash wipes are really good at stubborn mark removing on lots of surfaces - I use them on doors etc on the rare occasions when I do a proper clean.

The best way to clean laminate is with a mop and bucket and some laminate floor cleaner. I have a mop with 2 sections so I can rinse with clean water as I go. I then use a dry cloth on a 'swiffer'-type floor cleaner to polish it up. Whilst I do that the boys empty their cups of milk and bowls of raisins everywhere

Umm not sure about the toilet...there is a stain removing toilet cleaner though; is it Harpic in a black bottle?

I dribble neat bleach over the grout and rub it in quick. Leave for ten mins and then scrub with a scourer. wear rubber gloves!

skirting/doors - damp cloth and elbow grease should sort those.

Spray Dettox mildew remover on discoloured grout.

Fairy power spray is brilliant for cleaning stubborn marks, it might be good on your skirting boards and doors.

I have the same problem with a white toilet seat and sadly don't have a solution for that, other than a new toilet seat or sit down wee wee's only!

hot water with a squirt of w-up liquid and a sponge scourer thing for paintowrk

microfibre mop thus or similar (head wrung out in hot water & w-up liquid) for laminate floor

neat bleach & old toothbrush for grout/sealant

bathroom cleaner and a green scourer for loo
