Food for the freezer - what to put it in ........

I'm about to embark on a mammoth pre-birth cooking frenzy, to fill the freezer with a couple of weeks worth of meals (well maybe not but the odd lasagne / shepherd's pie at least).

I usually cook something which serves 4 or 6, then freeze leftovers in freezer bags but I end up with a freezer full of slightly misshapen portions which are depressing to reheat.

What I'm after are some dishes/containers which serve 2 (fairly greedy people) which I can take out of the freezer and put straight in the oven - so it still looks appetising when we come to eat it.

Everything I look for is either too big or made of plastic so not suitable for cooking or reheating in the oven.

Or am I taking this nesting/organisation too far?

Morrisons do foil containers with metal lined cardboard lids, sit these on the top then fold the edges of the container over... a bit like chinese takeaway type containers. They're marvellous and can be reused, I use them all the time... about £2 for 11 single-sized pots and the same price for (I think) 6 double-sized pots.

You could always freeze your meals in freezer bags inside plastic containers. When frozen take the bag (and food!) out of the plastic box... no more misshapen packages!
