I want to know if the amount I use is crazy or whether it's about normal (because it feels like a hell of a lot to me).

1 adult
3 DS's - 8,5 and 19 months

How many would you do for scrambled eggs on toast?? (or with toast - DS's prefer their toast separate)

But you have to dunk your egg and sausage in your bean juice! Goodness me...

I do my soups in the slow cooker - biggest pot I have - they'll have a bowl similar size to this one of something like Lentil and Carrot soup, and 3 (very thick as I can't cut bread to save myself) slices of homemade bread, and still want bloody desert.

Gawd I love my boys but I do wish they didn't have such big stomachs - wouldn't be so bad if I could say "well I need to cut their portions down as they're overweight/obese" - DS1 needs belts for most of his trousers to hold them up, and DS2 is average weight for his age, and if anything he's slightly underweight for his height.

Actually I think DS2 has hollow legs as he would eat all day if I let him

Very big pans! I have an 8 litre pasta pan and strainer from there. Life saver when cooking pasta bolognese for 6 adults and 1 child. ALso used for boiling potatoes for same number of people.

FAQtothefuture · 11/01/2009 17:21

only 2 have 2nds, DS1 and 2 - I never have 2nds, and DS3 is still a bitty eater so thankfully tiny portions for him still.

FAQ, I dread to think what it's going to be like when they're teenagers.

FAQtothefuture · 11/01/2009 17:24

oh don't - I try not to think of that - think I'll just have to send DS1 out to work at 16

lol. my friends dh when he realised how much his dsd was able to eat in a week a couple of years ago was hysterical. She was 15 at the time and was getting through cereal and milk as snacks like no tomorrow, could eat a large dominos pizza by herself and still be hungry, would make half a loaf's worth of sandwiches an hour before a big pasta tea and eat the lot, still looking for seconds.
She's a size 12.

I think they get it from my brother, who while well built certainly isn't over weight. He has about 4 (or is it 5?) Wheetabix for breakfast, then big lunch, huge dinner (would last me about a week LOL). Utter madness, oh well I should be working by the time they're teenagers (well at least I bloody hope I am) - just have to make sure I get a well paid job
