You could try making a paste out of bicarb of soda and see if that does anything. Or some Cif might do it. Post a thread in good housekeeping and see if anyone has any ideas.

Wolfcub · 09/01/2009 14:38

Wolfcub, I'd try a baby wipe...you'd be amazed what they can shift.

Brrrrr! I'm frozen...dh is lighting the fire but it takes a while to heat the place up.

I'm off to have a yoghurt!

grouchyoscar · 09/01/2009 16:14

Galen...mix 4 parts bicarb to 1 part soda crystal and apply with a damp cloth and a bit of elbow grease

dylsmum1998 · 09/01/2009 16:18

galen, have you tried the green side of those washing up sponges with the green bit on (sorry can't think wht they are called) usually these get the scuff marks off my floor form washer removals, somtimes it needs a little jif to help it along

dinky dancers was brill. dd loved it so much she cried her eyes out for ten mins at the end, and is still asking to go now. it wasnt even tantrum cries it was proper sobbing upset cry. bless her so will def. be taking her back again. am very pleased cos its not just dancing and not strict structure, its all sorts of physical movement, which is great for her age and stage

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 09/01/2009 17:12

Hope everyone is having a good day with their little and not so little ones.

DS1 is sore today and cried and cried this afternoon , he is in his PJ's watching Kerwizz which he loves to bits and has asked for hotdogs and supernoodles for dinner, as they always make him feel better - so I am doing as told (although I can not bring myself to use tinned ones, so fresh ones it is).

Still to do - washer on later
Bath to try and relax - amazon order still not here dispatched on Tuesday - pants

Poor DS - Mad. He has done well though.

Done
short run (brr)
played Top Trumps (ds new passion)
wash up

To do
laundry
bed hotspot
room rescue (when in bed).

BB tomorrow.

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 09/01/2009 18:46

Scatty I am a very proud mummy - he has managed with no pain relief during the day. I think that it is healing well and that he just gets a little over confident.

I have just done the mission, so all the boys are on the sofa in the conservatory with their feet on the table whilst the floor dries (I did the whole ground floor rather than just the kitchen)

I need to cook dinner for me and DH - will pop thinking cap on
Bath
early night

Well No FLYing done at Grouchy Towers today

The sink blocked and we didn't get a plumber til after 5 There was washing up to do etc etc and just no gumption to get it done.

We now have clear drains and replaced sink waste. £50 all in which isn't too bad TBH IMHO

Also had a hospital appointment today to see the Neurologist about stuff that can be done to make living with Boris easier. A pretty worthwhile appointment tbh so the wheels of the NHS will turn to get it sorted out. A good thing is I am too well to consider disease modifying meds. The potential slight benefits would be outweighed by the definite side effects of the treatment. Ho-Hum, I'm ill but too well

See you tomorrow FLYfriends

BiancaCastafiore · 09/01/2009 19:42

hello
Huge thread

Haven't read it I have done some work today and also managed to have a quick sort-out in my bedroom and really, really deep clean the downstairs shower-room.

Made the mistake of reading about Gaza on the Guardian website this evening and haven't been able to get an image of a child who looked a lot like my dd out of my head

Need to make supper for dh and I, then plan an early night ready for work again tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well, sorry not to have read up properly x

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 09/01/2009 19:49

Groucy It is good that you dont need the modification meds, I had a colleague on them - not nice. £50 isnt bad for a plummber IMHO

Bainca Dont laugh, but I am so tired I read Gaza as Gazza and have been sat here thinking why were you so upset but a pisshead ex-newcastle football player

Boys are in bed, although DS2 is crying every now and then - he doesnt want to be there

I am feeling a little stressed about operation and everything.

OP posts:
TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 09/01/2009 19:55

Ah - figured DS2 out - he needed "Red Bear" who had been in the wash. He is bear mad - he has "Bear Bear", "Spare Bare", "Moon Bear", "Pj Bear" and "Bear" all in bed with him and he carrys two round with him at all times

Hello all, have been absent three days, just been so busy and still flying! House looks fine!
Have read the threads so know what you're all up to.
Date night so can't stop. hopefully will get time to post over the weekend.

swanriver · 09/01/2009 20:20

TMH that is just like my ds2 - very sweet. dd is more traditional and just has a large blanket, which is constantly draped around her.
Not surprised you are feeling stressed. I think one is so busy worrying about everyone else that you almost feel you are not allowed time to worry about yourself when you need to and then it comes as a terrible shock when you stop and think.

Back from swimming, I stood on side and coached them as usual. Deckchairs for lazy mothers and fathers on poolside in healthclub have now been replaced by hard wooden blue benches. The mothers were all complaining.

Despite all my organized menuplanning, dh and children voted for chinese takeaway so that is what we had on returning home!

Now they need to be put to bed. Dh is watching Horton with them and it is rather late.

Still haven't read my book today.

swanriver · 09/01/2009 21:26

All (no not all) asleep at last - a textbook example of how NOT to put children to bed. Keep them up late watching telly, after a dose of monsodium glutamate, when already tired out by school and swimming...Dd has been apalling, demanding screaming and shouting about sieves and cream in her milk, toothbrushing sore fingers plasters and only just now conked out, dss are still whispering. (Toothache seems to have vanished for now) Now obvious to me that indulgence is doomed. Twins need to be in beds sharp at 7.30 or situation deteriates.

Kitchen clean and tidy
bedrooms clean and tidy
living areas clean and tidy
more washing on
Now to do room rescue 20 mins on our bedroom.
