Ecover, E-cloths, Dysons etc... what other products do you use to save your skin and health and protect the environment?

all of the above and also stuff like bicarb of soda, vinegar, lemons etc. There are always recipies for good homemade cleaners on here if you search for them - much nicer than bought stuff

BonsoirAnna · 08/01/2009 21:11

Anyone else?

Ecover for everything except washing powder. Newspaper for windows. Citrus oils for leaving a nice smell in the bathroom.

DippyDino · 09/01/2009 00:05

The loo is a problem area, though.

Have tried ecover and loo brush but it's just doesn't do the trick.

Best thing is laundry and dryer balls.

Cuts how much powder you need, drying time cut with dryer balls and added softness.

Ooh I sound like a commercial!

BonsoirAnna · 09/01/2009 08:02

What brand are the dryer balls you use?

I have some dryer balls from the pound shop and they are great

castille · 09/01/2009 10:52

I got my dryer balls from Lakeland, they are a rounded pyramid sort of shape and really seem to work.

BonsoirAnna · 09/01/2009 16:09

What are the dryer balls supposed to do, in fact?

OP posts:
WowOoo · 09/01/2009 16:11

I head that tennis balls are cheaper and do the same. Wish I'd known that before!

I think coz they wack the clothes around more they dry more quickly?

Not sure really, but they seem to work ( I did an experiment - saddo emoticon)

WowOoo · 09/01/2009 16:13

Use Borax here too. It's great.

Got a book from National Trust shop which has all stains and all recipes for removing puke smells, crayon stains etc.

I get through a lot of bicarb/baking soda/ white vinegar.

castille · 09/01/2009 21:07

Yes they are to reduce drying time. No idea how, maybe by increasing movement inside the drum.
