Which way do you store glasses in the cupboard?

Upside down so they don't get dusty or right side up so the lip doesn't touch the surface of the cupboard? I think right side up but DH thinks the other way.

Upside down but don't know why really.

differentID · 02/01/2009 12:29

I prefer upside down, dh prefers right side up.

scrooged · 02/01/2009 12:30

Could you turn them upside down but put them on some kitchen paper?

mine are rightside up. They don't get dusty.

TheBlonde · 02/01/2009 12:30

right side up

nancy75 · 02/01/2009 12:31

rightside up, they smell funny if upside down

norksinmywaistband · 02/01/2009 12:31

upside down, wine glasses are more stable that way.
I wipe out the cupboards regularly, so don't worry about the rims

dietstartstomorrow · 02/01/2009 12:32

Upside down.

AndATigerschickInAPearTree · 02/01/2009 12:32

Right side up - but if they are ones that we don't use very often I usually give them a quick rinse before using them.
I'd rather do that than fill them with expensive booze and then discover the dust floating on the surface!!

nowwearefour · 02/01/2009 12:34

our cupboard seems to get regularly empty ie we use them all often so they dont get dusty. i am not quite so good at cleaning out the cupboard! so right side up in this house!

stealthsquiggle · 02/01/2009 12:37

right side up now that we (finally) have fairly dust-proof cupboards.

but we do also have fab ridged shelf liner so that if you do put them upside down they don't get smelly (also stops them sliding around).

ellideb · 02/01/2009 12:38

Right side up, they look more natural that way.

Jojay · 02/01/2009 12:39

Upside down. Don't really know why but they're on a wire rack in a carousel corner cupboard so they don't get smelly.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 02/01/2009 13:06

Stealth - getting excited here - can you buy cupboards which are dust-proof - a bit like self cleaning ovens or do they still, unfortunately, involve regular cleaning?? Wire rack in carousel cupboard sounds good.

Upside down and clean your cupboard more often

Gorionine · 02/01/2009 13:08

upside down

smurfgirl · 02/01/2009 13:08

Upside down, I used to put them the right side up but DH doesn't like it and I don't care enough!

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 02/01/2009 13:09

upside down so if still a bit damp from dishwasher the water doesnt collect in the bottom

MrsSeanBean · 02/01/2009 13:10

Right side up. They get used too often to get dusty.

stealthsquiggle · 02/01/2009 13:24

That depends what you mean by 'regular'... our kitchen is nearly 2 years old and I have maybe cleaned the cupboards out once (but then I am a slattern)

I thought it would be the shelf liner which would be the exciting bit - it is a slightly older version of this

ohdearwhatamess · 02/01/2009 13:24

Right way up. They don't get dusty.

MrsSeanBean · 02/01/2009 13:25

my cupboards don't get dusty inside so I don't need to clean them at all very often.

Paperchase · 02/01/2009 13:28

Right way up. It saves confusion when you get to the tap.

And hoover your cupboards!
