Mould on natural granite - how to remove?

We have a natural granite seat in our shower. The seal has worn off and now it has mould which seems to be part of the stone iyswim. I know now we should keep it dry, but we didn't, is there any way to remove it?

You have an aging elitist mumsnetter in your shower. Kick the cheeky bitch out.

StealthPoHoHoHo · 28/12/2008 14:41

thanks I'd love to but she won't listen to cif, white wine vinegar, bicarb or elbow grease!

A fruit shoot might see the back of her.

Sorry, no real use to you.

StealthPoHoHoHo · 28/12/2008 14:54

maybe I need to open up a new elite shower cubicle in the hope she'll move?

Sorry...sorry...any sensible suggestions or am I stuck with it? Someone must have had this before - we can't be the only slatterns who don't dry the cubicle from top to bottom the minute we step out surely?

Make sure that elite cubicle has a secret password though you dont want any riff raff wondering in to eat sauasage rolls and drink fruit shoots,

TsarHumbug · 28/12/2008 14:57

Mould?? You dare to mention mould/mold?! There is a special designated thread for this you know!

DumbledoresGirl · 28/12/2008 15:11

Have you tried stuff like Dettox Mould and Mildew Remover

TWINSETinapeartree · 28/12/2008 15:12

Yeah spray it in their eyes.

Glad to see you are not in the least bit bothered by this Mold business Twinset.

TWINSETinapeartree · 28/12/2008 15:19

I never hold a grudge

girlandboy · 28/12/2008 15:28

Apparently a special proprietary granite cleaner should do it.

StealthPoHoHoHo · 28/12/2008 15:41

ooh thank you. Do you have any recommendatons, or just in general?

girlandboy · 28/12/2008 15:46

this company's products are always reliable

Also look at the section "Bathroom Products"

Have seen them for sale in places like B&Q etc.

Apparently the mould spores actually penetrate between the crystals in the granite. But don't use bleach, because that stains the stonework!

DumbledoresGirl · 28/12/2008 16:36

Twinset, why are you not accepting CATs from MN?

DumbledoresGirl · 28/12/2008 16:37

LOL, you don't have to answer that! What I meant was, I wanted to contact you and see you are not accepting CATs...

TWINSETinapeartree · 28/12/2008 18:47

Probably because I deleted my registration.
