Sorry to bring the board down, but my bloody mother again - after agreeing to go this evening, she has just rang to say she is not feeling well and will speak to me over the weekend.

Truth is she has forgoten again that it is my birthday tomorrow same as last year , didnt even get a card

oH mad try not to be downhearted. I know its hurtfull (I have ishooo's big time with my parents) but focus on the bigger picture (birthday cake !)

dyls I've bought myself a wii fit for christmas (its allegedly a family present as the wii is the big present as we've decided NO plastic tat this year)

Thanks for you good wishes Saggy - back from vets - saved LOADS of money because it was a cyst that burst as he stroked her back. so we got away with an antibiotic injection and she will be fine

Have just consumed two mince pies, earlier had a choc chip cookie and a jam tart I am eating and eating lately. No self control!
Had a headache today. My children very very tired today too. Was kind to us all and gave us all a two hour nap - they still went straight to sleep at 7.30 though, even DS who is 4! Christmas seems to tire everyone out.

I have just rowed with dh He can be soo hopeless sometimes! Ds just got in the bath when the phone rang - my bro so I ask dh to keep a watch on ds while I chat (Ds is fully able to be in th e bath alone but I usually like to be upstairs at the same time)...dh eventually gets ds out and in pjs, I get off the phone go upstairs and ds still has supper on his face and still has dry hair! I ask dh if he thought to wash ds while he was in th ewater and he says "well, you didn't tell me to wash him". 7 1/2 yrs this man has been a parent, surely by now he knows you need to wash a child when they have a bath?! Bit quick to snap today, I'm feeling a bit put upon atm...work and keeping house/family organised is getting a bit much.

Shame to have argued cos I had planned a nice supper and a dvd. Just feel like having a bath and an early night (alone!) now

Dd went to a party which finished at 6.30 but she went back to play at a friends....The parents said they'd drop her back by 7.30; no sign of her yet so I think I'll have to pop out and collect her - it's freezing out there though!

saga we have thought alike with the christmas presents- i wanted it so i bought it as a family present guess who'll be on it most?!!

TMH hard i know but try and concentrate on having a good day with your boys and dh. and not to worry about your mum forgetting again, mums are funny creatures aren't they.

TMH Sorry your mum is being so rubbish. MIL has 4 children 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She never remembers any of their birthdays except dp - his is New Years Day.

I do hope you have a good birthday tomorrow despite her thoughtlessness. I'm sure your dh and ds' will make it special for you
