Left the bike in the dining room and somehow some chain grease leapt off the chain and smeared onto the new jeans and white shirt......ANY ideas as to how to get the stuff off?? Been told to rub with granulated sugar, but am a bit dubious about this. Any further ideas to save my satorial elegance??? Please??

Rub in some undiluted washing up liquid. Leave for 1/2 an hour. Wash as normal but not with other things.

thank you! Will try it now. Am looking at £100 worth of clothes I bought partly with a pay increase being unwearable after one outing.

And...BINGO!! Followed your advice Virgin, and with A LOT of washing/rinsing/scratching with a finger nail, and washing in soap flakes, all the grease has come off!! They both are happily drip-drying over the bath as I type.
Thank you very much.

BRAVO!

That is one hell of a worry though.

Has anyone invented anything to undo the damage to my new jumper with bleach splashes down the front??

Pan · 10/12/2008 19:40

sorry I can't reciprocate, Virgin. Apart from buying you a new jumper.
