BO in clothes

I can not get rid of the smell of bo in some of my clothes
The culprits are the 100% acrylic tops I wear under suits and a v neck jumper made of the same material, even after washing they still smell

Any ideas for how i can get rid of it?

what temp are you washing at?

maybe bicarb?

Dab the underarms with cotton wool soaked in white (or indeed any) vinegar. Worked wonders on my Dp's stinky polo shirts this summer.

I have an american top loader washing machine so I can't pick the temp, it's either hot or cold, so I wash everything cold, which I don't think helps.

Have some white vinegar in the cupboard, I'll try that Thanks

I'm not normally stinky btw!

why not handwash those items anyway as the cold is obviously not cleaning them adequately if it doesn't remove odour...?

Brangelina · 05/12/2008 14:47

do all American machines only was at 2 temperatures?!

The vinegar really does work, even DP, who is quite normally quite sceptical at my eco efforts, is now a huge fan. Just rub quite vigourously at the smelly areas then wash as normal.

It has 3 temperatures ... hot, warm or cold. But because it feeds directly off the main hot water tank and we have really bad pressure on the hot it's either very hot or cold.

Looks like I'm going to have to some hand washing [yuck]

Thanks for the tips
