Talk to me about microwave combination/grill ovens

Microwave has just given up the ghost and need to replace. We have a Rayburn and a mini hob, so could do with another oven/grill when the range is off or too low to cook.

Have you got one? Is it any good. Talk to me about the pros/cons.

TIA

My friend has one and suits her well as they live on a boat where it doesn't take up much room. They often cook roasts in it and cook a lot but other than that afraid I don't know much about it!

Thanks for that looseleaf.

I have one, but I have only used the grill once.......and I can't remember what that was for!

I have had two - one a cheapish one from tesco that I used when the house was being renovated and had no kitchen for two years. It was fine and v useful but grilling a bit limited as it still had a turntable that went round and round so limited to round dishes that could spin iyswim. Now have v expensive Neff oven/grill/microwave in new kitchen and have to say I am really pleased with it. Great for all sorts of things that you want to give a quick zz or defrost in the microwave and then finish off in the oven/grill without having to move it. Would definitely have one again despite cost. No turntable so looks and behaves like a normal oven which also microwaves. It's built-in though - not sure that's what you're looking for.

I have a Panasonic one and use it all the time.
You can use it as a regular microwave or combine the micro with the fan oven to do proper baked potatoes quickly. I use the oven function to do roast pots and yorkshire puddings which need to be at a higher temp than the range oven.
