have had my whirlpool condenser for 4 years now and it is good

the drum is nice and big

BirdyArms · 01/12/2008 16:17

I have a hotpoint which is absolutely useless. Takes ages to dry anything so I never use it.

HolidaysQueen · 01/12/2008 16:18

we have a zanussi one and it's been great. it's one of the slightly more energy efficient tumble dryers because it has those sensors that stop it when the load is dry.

Just bought a fab Hotpoint condenser dryer. The tub is massive so it takes a whole load - no splitting in two rubbish. It also has a weight mechanism and choice of programmed timers which means you can just throw it in then decide what you want - ready for wardrobe, ready for wearing, synthetics, etc, as well as the normal select time/temp yourself. It's fabulous. And yes, the clothes are dry once the cycle is done. Can't fault it.
I was a bit dubious about getting it though as always viewed Hotpoint as dodgy (from mum's experience in the past), but it's fabulous

Bosch Exxcel - wanted a glass door. Used every day, is great.

Deeeja · 01/12/2008 21:36

Love my Miele one.

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 02/12/2008 09:50

bet the Miele is lovely but expensive ! we have Bosch wmachine so a dryer would match !

i have a meile one now- absolutely fab!! my old hotpoint was just an expensive kitchen ornament- set and forget- but it always forgot to dry the clothes never dried a load properly in the 18 months it lodged in our kitchen

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 02/12/2008 10:52

was it hugely expensive, the miele ?

I have a Miele too, and it gets major use. It has never let me down and only recently started making a funny noise because the carbon roller thingies (I'm not very technical) had actually worn away from so much use

From memory I think it was maybe £500 - I certainly wouldn't have paid more than that for it.

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 02/12/2008 11:09

hmmm..

I have an LG. It's been replaced once and the belt has broken on the second one. When it's working it's fab, though.

ThePeachyPlumFairy · 02/12/2008 11:12

our hoover vision seems to be coping with our 4 boys OK

BellaKissedSanta · 02/12/2008 11:16

I know it's quite a lot for a tumble dryer and initally dh said no but once we had binned a few hotpoints & zanussis after an average of 3 years he kind of saw my viewpoint.

Miele say their appliances are designed to last something like 20 years and I've had the tumble dryer for 6 years now and only had to make one call out.

Not on commission, honest, but I do have the washing machine and dishwasher too

CoolYourJets · 02/12/2008 11:18

white knight - 10 years old used loads. No problems

ditheringdora · 02/12/2008 11:19

I have Whirlpool for at least 5 years, never once had a problem

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 02/12/2008 15:41
