You know I have had one of those days, which make you wish you hadnt got out of bed.

Have got nothing done, but chase my tail and those peskey childrens, who painted everywhere whilst I answered the door.

Dordled round the shops with my mother and not actually got what I needed

But never mind tomorrow is another day.

Wendy I think I would stay at home until the youngest is older and then return to teaching, but saying that I actually like being a mum most of the time I intend to try and return part time once both are at school. It is a very individual decsision and one that only you can make. My issue was that I always gave 110% at work, I also wanted to give 100% at home too and knew that I couldnt have it all espcially in my old role - so something had to give. I figured that it was only a short time of my life compared to such a large part of theirs. Also I dont have family who would/could help out, so would be working for zero cash.

Shopping - Aldi, tesco - mostly done
Drop mum off - done
Back for lunch - boys ate in car
DS1 to Preschool - only just
DS2 nap - a little bit
Mission - done
Room resue x2
Ironing and put away
Wrap DH's birthday pressies - done
Make DH's cards - done
Pick DS1 from preschool - done
Play with the boys - not done
Do cards with the boys - done
Whats for dinner - done
Evening routine

SO looking at that I have achieved something, although I did make a loaf of bread with no yeast

I am going to do the ironing at least tonight as tomorrow is DH's birthday

Hello all, thanks again for all your comments - I am going to make a list pro and con and speak to dh on sunday night after dd's birthday is all done with. I think the fact we have a much bigger credit card bill this month than we have in the bank is swaying me somewhat!

Got lots done tonight, really all stuff on the routine but everything seems to take ages. The washing up, for example! Have all you lot got dishwashers? We don't have one in our rented house - I so miss it! I wash up at least 4 times a day and I think it must take at least an hour of my day - what a waste of my life!

Been shopping, hoovered downstairs, tidied up, cleaned the kitchen, made pasta for tea, bathed kids (dh at governor meeting), where's the washing done and lots more.

To do
Phone MIL
Online shop M & S
15 min declutter living room
dust living room
clean bathroom
bed early!

Migraine has gone, though!

TheMadHouse · 20/11/2008 20:04

Wendy We rented for six months when we first moved back North and I have never been so depressed in my entire life. I could find nothing right with the house we rented, even though looking back it was fine. Perhaps buying a house will make you feel more settled.

I love our house, as it is ours - even though it is just a short term solution as we do have some land on the farm. It made me much more content, plus we have room for a dishwasher again - which we didnt

Thanks Mad glad it's not just me! I keep walking past that room that used to be our bedroom (christened 'the mouldy room' by DS ) and am literally gnashing my teeth at the amount we're paying in rent for a room we can't use! Landlord has at least been to see it now but nothing done atm.

We are def going to try and do something in the new year!

Bewilderbeast · 20/11/2008 20:34

evening all

done

picked ds up from nursery
supermarket shop - and i'd just like to take this opportunity to say fk you to all the judgemental people in morrisons
made ds something to eat
got ds ready foir bed and into bed

dp is 'making' our tea

up early tomorrow for the 7am train to londinium

wendylanguage · 20/11/2008 20:52

What's all that about Morrisons, BWB or shouldn't I ask?

babyjjbaby · 20/11/2008 21:03

yay everything done finally

Bewilderbeast · 20/11/2008 21:05

wendy ds was tired, thirsty (I'm sure nursery don't make sure he drinks enough when he goes there) virusy and cranky and he screamed his way on and off around the supermarket (he is VERY loud) until we got to the bottled water section where I broke into a 6 pack to give him a drink (which I paid for of course). Lots of people commenting and staring at him screaming and whingeing. Including one young pregnant couple - I very uncharitably thought just you wait until that bump is two years old, tired, virusy and bored. Grrr. The only none judgey person was the lovely checkout lady who had been looking after her 4 year old grandson all day.

wendylanguage · 20/11/2008 21:11

Oh, I hate people at the supermarket, what do they think we should do with our kids whilst we shop? My nursery don't make sure they drink anything either it winds me up.

giddykipper · 20/11/2008 21:46

I'm not doing too badly. Have been keeping the kitchen clean and clearing hotspots before bed. Think I will start to add on a daily mission tomorrow. I don't work on Fridays so I think I might also set aside a couple of 15 minute decluttering sessions.

clemette · 20/11/2008 22:18

Growth spurt is continuing here but I have laid out clothes and will shine my sink later...

swanriver · 20/11/2008 22:53

Poor you BEWILDERBEAST, but well done for getting shopping done with toddler in tow. I didn't manage to buy more 6 than items this morning, had to go to newsagent as within walking distance for underweather child, and even then had resort to MAOM sweet and comic. And I was only allowed to buy things that DS2 considered interesting, like bacon, and mild cheese.
Morrisons is deserted round here between 9 & 10 am, and therefore has become a sort of delightful playground for mothers with toddlers. It has a very relaxing atmosphere, which disappears by 11 am, but I never used to get out of the house in time.

DONE PM
Lunch with ds2
Swept yard, found and washed mouldy rug.
Bedroom mission. Only half way through, but did not let myself get bogged down. Moved swiftly on to
Tuna Pasta sauce prepared (2 meals worth)
Eagle eye on hotspot hall.
Rice pudding (no semo) prepared (2 meals worth)
Homework with DS2. Hideous experience
Gave up on homework.
Picked up dcs from school, laden with tantrum busting healthy snacks.
Healthy exercise in fresh air - to park.
TV 45 mins.
Inspired by Anne of Avonlea - Made model garden with DD out of pearl barley, green Soft Stuff, tin foil and shoe box lid. She was pleeesed, and very good tempered as result.
DS1 did his homework without prompting.
Supper for everyone including DH who had returned unexpectedly.
Posted thank you letter with dd in her pyjamas and gumboots.
Arranged playdate with person who lived next to postbox.
Cleared kitchen
Read story to DS1 after forcing him to tidy a few things up in playroom.
Swept hall and kitchen floor.
3/4 finished bedroom mission - this took only another 10 mins made such a difference..
Found makeup under pile of laundry in bedroom. And long lost uniform marker pen.
Gave up on all DH's possessions books and clothes in bedroom. Just a light good tempered dusting of the piles.
Put away some toys without feeling discouraged by rest of mess.

Left sink clean and clear.

FAILED TO DO
IRONING.
Read my book.

Will try book now. In nice 3/4 clean bedroom.
Goodnight everybody, will it snow tomorrow perhaps?

swanriver · 20/11/2008 23:04

Well done Clemette for going with growth spurt. Hope you get some sleep tonight.
