I can never get the egg layer off without hours of soaking and scrubbing. Am I missing something?

Use a non-stick frying pan instead

You need a stainless steel ot copper scourer.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 06/11/2008 15:47

or (in case you thought it was some kind of brand).

SummatAnNowt · 06/11/2008 16:18

Leave it for a few hours and you can just peel it off...

SummatAnNowt · 06/11/2008 16:19

wondering if I should've changed my name for that.

breaghsmum · 06/11/2008 17:39

soak it in hot water drop of washing up liquid and spalsh of vinegar. leave it while you eat and it should come off easily enough, still might need a scourer but it will only take a couple of minutes

I used to make my scrambled egg in a stainless steel saucepan and had to leave it to soak for hours then scrub like hell to get it off UNTIL my sister came round and saw what I was doing and recommended I use a non stick frying pan instead.

It was a revelation!!!

dinny · 06/11/2008 17:50

another recommendation for non stick frying pan!

beansontoast · 06/11/2008 17:52

get a stainless steel scourer...then everything is a doddle

I microwave ours in a glass bowl. Soaking with washing powder (as normally used for clothes) is good

beansontoast · 06/11/2008 17:53

ooh thats never happened to me before

Brilliant - have used a stainless steel scourer - now just have to get the egg of the scourer!

I do have a non-stick frying pan! It's huge - possibly too huge for one egg's worth .

scrambled egg sticks to non-stick as well. How do you stop the scourer being full of eggy bits that never ever ever come off?

hazeyjane · 07/11/2008 08:36

Put a spoon of soda crystals and hot water in leave on the side for a while, I don't even have to use a scourer then.
