FAQ · 29/10/2008 05:36

and before you say anything yes I know it's 5.30 in hte morning, I've been up for 1 1/2hrs and despite saying I'm going to do my housework (particuarly that which should have been done last night so far I've done nothing )

So today I must:

Put the recycling bin out so that it gets collected this morning
Empty the dishwasher
Reload it and put it on
Do my washing
Get it dried
Iron (and put away)
Sort kitchen worktops
During the day, take photos of, and jot down details of stuff I need to list on ebay
Tonight - list stuff on ebay
Go to town to get a postal order to pay for DS1's school photos
Address Christening invites (and hopefully post them!)
Tidy lounge/diner - and hoover
Cook dinner
Bath the boys

ermm think that's it for now.......I'm hoping to get a chunk of it done before the boys get up........

twoluvlykids · 31/10/2008 11:29

I've got to -

clean house from top to bottom - bathroom, loo, bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and stairs
remake beds
ironing
sort out 4 months worth of paperwork
go to town to Boots and doctors

and all I want to do is watch daytime tv - I've already managed Tesco and put most of it away

ktwooooowooooo · 31/10/2008 11:35

chloemegjess · 31/10/2008 12:10

Having quite a good day housework wise so far. I have hoovered the bathroom and now the kitchen, cleaned the cooker and kitchen sides, Put some stuff in bags to go to my mums for her bootsale stuff, Put a few bits on freecycle, put some rubbish out (but there will be more) and made a good start on clearing the back room.

BUT DD is nearly due to wake up from her nap and only has a short sleep in the afternoon so we will see how much we get done once she is awake! If I can get the mopping done while she is sleeping then hopefully she can play in the kitchen with some toys while I still get some bits done (kitchen joins onto back room - i am not just abandoning her - honest!).

Off to get mopping done and carry on with back room.

DD has a playpen in the back room but doesn't like it which is very annoying.

Cheesesarnie · 31/10/2008 12:12

can someone come and do mine please

pretty please

Right.
Left to do:

Mop kitchen and bathroom - next to do when DD lets me.
Fill in forms - one done, but one awful tax credits one to go
finish tidying back room.
Hoover back room

chloemegjess · 31/10/2008 15:00

Kitchen and bathroom mopped. Which is a good job done
Forms done, need to take to post office tomorrow morning or get DH to do it on way to work.
Back room still only half done, but I have made a really good start on it, and DD hasn't even had her afternoon nap yet. She is having her milk now and then I am going to put her up.

So need to finish Back room or do as much as I can anyway. And need to hoover, but will leave that till when DD goes to bed tonight.

Also need to make dinner. I am trying to cook every night now as we started to go down the ready meal/take away route but want to eat better. DH working till 11 tonight so just me and DD so only making macaroni cheese but will make properly and freeze some spare for quick meals to heat up on lazy days.

Well I am stopping now as just invited to take DD to a friends house as it is halloween and we had no plans.

All jobs done though except the back room isn't finished but to be honest, it was a big job to do in one day.

And dinner is already cooked and I have extra done to freeze in little pots for DD on lazy days so that is a bonus. AND I will be driving past the place I needed to post forms off too so can drop them off personally. Now just need DD to wake up so we can go!

Hope you all got some stuff done today and hope you all have a happy halloween!

Will be back here tomorrow to start all over again!

theirmum · 03/11/2008 11:02

Clean Bathroom
empty tumble dry and washing machine reload x 2
Clean Kitchen
prep dinner
at least 2 hours of ironing
strip DS bed and wash ready for when he is back from hols
hoover everywhere
... there is more just cant think

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 11:24

I need help today
I have been so very busy with other stuff this past few weeks that I hadn't noticed how filthy my house is, my hair is desperate for a cut but my psoriasis is dreadful, my chilblains are ulcerating and I think if I'm not careful I might start getting mistaken for a tramp.
I have set aside this afternoon for getting sorted. but am sooooo tired.

So forgive me for my posts as I get through things I need to do.

Have had an early lunch and am now going to see if neighbour is in cos she cuts hair and I might be able to make an appt this week if I try.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 11:25

BadKitten - you can get through it

I've got some housework to do this afternoon - had a lazy morning now the older DS's are back at school.

Haven't really got a "list" - but will make one as I go along and post what I've done on here.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 11:29

Nice to have some company doing this. Thanks FAQ

Neighbour not in, but have decided not to get the weeps about it (am precariously close to the weeps about silly stuff)

In a min will start tidying up.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 11:30

try doing 15 minute bursts (set your timer) (or a little longer if you're up to it).

Then concentrate on one area, when the timer goes off - STOP - even if you're mid job, and have a 15 minute rest (yes it's "sort" of flyladyish but not quiet), then do another 15 minutes, picking up where you left of.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 11:39

good idea - thanks, I know it will feel much better when its done. Then a hot bath at the end with some pampering stuff so I don't feel so ick.

Right,
am going to tidy for 15 mins.

Good luck with your stuff!

theirmum · 03/11/2008 11:39

Right
Clean Bathroom
empty tumble dry and washing machine reload x 2
Clean Kitchen done
prep dinner done
at least 2 hours of ironing
strip DS bed and wash ready for when he is back from hols done
hoover everywhere

Its the bloody ironing I am putting of but think after lunch will put on a good film and get stuck in

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 12:02

well done theirmum. good idea about ironing film

house is 15 minutes tidier now. Hallway is clear except have had a glitter accident. have started tidying craft stuff in living room.

so resting for a bit.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 12:05

well done you two

I'm about to change DS3's nappy give him milk then put him down for a nap.

Then I'll make myself a coffee and some lunch - while the kettle is boiling I'll empty the dishwasher, eat then start doing some 15 minutes blitzing.

It's amazing how much you can get done in 15 minutes isn't it BadKitten.

Never feels like you've done much, until after the 2nd or 3rd one - when you look around and suddenly you can see progress

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 12:12

doesnt look like much at all yet but at least people can open my front door fully now! thats a bonus.

15 mins on living room now I think. I have to remove an awful lot of paper flowers that have glued them selves to newspaper!

enjoy your lunch faq

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 12:30

thanks - just sat down with it - DS3 is in his cot (though not yet asleep lol), dishwasher is emptied and I have toast and a coffee

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 12:40

excellent

must say thanks to you faq cos I'm already feeling a little happier, twas a good idea of yours.

living room is tidy. friend has phoned to ask how she can help with school fair - hooray! so she is coming round after school to pick up some craft stuff to make. That will be a big help. plus now I have another motivation for making house more presentable.

cup of tea, then kitchen so can make friend a cup of tea. Have decided that I don't need to clean anything other than kitchen/bathroom surfaces and a downstairs vac. As long as its tidy and washing is more under control then it will be better than it was.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 03/11/2008 12:42

it's ok

I find 15 (or however long I feel up to - have been known to do 5 minute blitzes when I'm really tired) blitzes a real help especially when I'm tired and totally unmotivated.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2008 13:12

kitchen is tidy and all the surfaces (apart from floor) wiped down. will be much easier to make dinner tonight. Bit of a break then will tackle pit dining room.
