which washing up liquid do you all use? & why?

Am trying to decide whether switching to own brand or value washing up liquid would be a false economy. ATM I use persil Berry Burst I thinkit is which smells lovely, but am trying to cut back as much as poss still & wondered if anyone has any thoughts

TIA

Tescos own. Or anything else its on offer and works out cheaper. Tescos is fine (not value, just own brand).

CharCharBaGOOOOOOORE · 12/10/2008 11:17

I use Asda's own brand, and I think it's ok. Similar to Fairy and you don't need to put much in so it lasts as long as branded ones. The Asda smartprice one is crap, far too watery and you need loads.

lucysmam · 12/10/2008 11:27

Maybe I'll stick with Persil then, much the same price I think that & own brand ones.

Thanks

Ecover - smells lovelt & works great. Just don't expect masses of bubbles, as it has no foam enhancers. But it works just the same

Anna8888 · 12/10/2008 13:46

I hardly use any, but I use Palmolive when I do.

TheProvincialLady · 12/10/2008 13:48

Ecover - for the same reasons as seabright. I wouldn't go back to neon stinky bleachy chemicals now

MrsMattie · 12/10/2008 13:48

Fairy. I have tried to wean myself off it and on to Ecover or similar, but nothing washes as well as fairy, imo.

surcare atm - it was on offer and is better for my eczema.

cheekysealion · 12/10/2008 13:49

own brand but not value, although i use value for bubble machine..

fav is apricot and something from tesco

cafebistro · 12/10/2008 13:53

I use fairy. You only need to use a tiny amount so it lasts for ages. Just like the adverts!

bellavita · 12/10/2008 13:55

Fairy.

bronze · 12/10/2008 14:01

Bio-d bought by the vat and decanted.

LadyOfWaffleIsScaryEnough · 12/10/2008 14:03

Fairy because I used to love the advery with the baby and I love bubbles. Stupid reasons, but am being honest! I did switch to ecover a while ago but DH started to do the shopping and can never find it!

hambo · 12/10/2008 14:05

I second bronze - Bio-D, decanted...it's really good too!

janeite · 12/10/2008 14:11

Ecover here. It doesn't bubble up but it works well and for the sake of a few more pence, I feel it's worth it.

nannyL · 12/10/2008 20:43

Ecover here too... last time i bought eat, per litre it was quite a LOT cheaper than fairy

LynetteScavo · 12/10/2008 20:45

Ecover.

Becuase it's enviormentally firendly, it works, and it's on the "my usualls" list on the internet shopping site I use.

LynetteScavo · 12/10/2008 20:51

just googled Bio D...looks great, but is it?

I love my Ecover fabric softener....what's Bio D fabric softener like?

lmao LadyOfWaffle @ your reasons! But like you said, at least you're honest. Don't think I could push myself as far as using one that doesn't bubble as much like Ecover! I too am a bubble lover . . . my oh laughs at me for having sooooo many of them whether it be for pot washing or bath time!

I think I'll have a look and see what's on offer rather than sticking to one brand, that's a good idea.

Persil have huge vat of the stuff from cash and carry and I decant it into fairy bottle.

Love the bubbles but sadly it is just the original, I am a sucker for the nice smelling berry burst of other brands.

Have to sniff before I buy if you see me in the aisle at the supermarket, run, run for your life

bronze · 13/10/2008 09:49

Not tried bio-d fabric softener but I love their loo cleaner. It looks a bit odd but works brilliantly. I also buy their multi purpose stuff all in bulk.

lucysmam · 13/10/2008 09:50

looks a bit odd, how?

OP posts:
bronze · 13/10/2008 18:12

It seperates and one half looks slightly curdled. Looks fine when shaken up again.
