Electric radiator question

LIZS · 05/10/2008 12:31

Have guests coming to sleep in currently unheated attic room. We have a Dimplex electric radiator with basic temperature control. Can I use a plug-in timer switch with it to allow it to come on early am and evening ?

If it's a plug in one then I don't see why not. Would be just like plugging in a lamp on a time I would have thought maybe. Might be better off waiting for someone who actually knows though rather than me with my "I'd do it just to see" attitude

i also have the just do it and see attitude but i see no reasone why you cant use one of those electric timers

i certainly would too

I have an oil heater on a timer switch and it works just fine.

To be on the safe side you need to check that your timer switch is rated to carry the current that the heater will require. I expect it will be fine though.

plug is max 13a/3120W and radiator 750w so presumably ok ?
