Afternoon Everyone

Hello again Bianca Thanks for the thread and good on you for being super FLY

Lucys DH hasn't been paid for 2.5 months either. It's effing annoying to say the least isn't it?

Hello TMH we should get together as I had my second sleepless night too. There was a really interesting prog about architecture in Chicago which made me smile.

Jas Glad DH is getting work.

Luda have a great holiday

Hello EHM

Waves to EV CB and Tort

Been on a Webster Stratton course this morning. Hoping to get Ed taming tips
I've also

Up
Showered
Downstgairs
Make breakfast
Tidy round
Get bags ready
Ed to school
Over to the course

Taking it steady. The house is ticking over nicely so I'm not busting a gut.

Hope all are well and for those who aren't

Hello, hope you don't mind but I am new to MN, I keep seeing these titles - Good Housekeeping then the day then FLY.

Hello Vicky

FLY is a method of getting the housework done without losing your marbles. Just simple tips to work smarter and not harder and you get more done with little effort. The website is here. Someone else will pop across to explain the theory better than I can.

In reality, this thread is really friendly and very supportive. I've been here about 18 mths and it's great.

Come and join us and Welcome

Wow, thanks Grouchy - its a whole new world !! In the couple of minutes quick look I have had, I've picked up some handy stuff already - my whole house is a hotspot for a start !

I'm not a SAHM but I manage to grab some time in my lunchbreak and when the kids have gone to bed to MN. Your answer has made me feel less like a visitor now

Cheers

Hi Everyone again

Done most of the ironing this morning. Just a few of DP's shirts to do and im straight- until the next load dries!
Sorted out wet washing- some in t/d ( if only DP knew!) and the rest on an airer.
DS has been colouring for most of the morning and is now watching Ratatouille.
DD is napping...she loves her sleep! Just like her Mummy ( before DC's obviously!)

Thanks to Lucys, Tigger and Jas for opinions about DD's xmas gift idea. I think I will go for a doll...probably a My 1st Baby Born or 1st Baby Annabel. Hopefully it'll be something she can keep for a few years. Lucys know what you mean about playing with dolls, I used to love dressing my Sindys up when i was about 13....and then I discovered boys . Should have stuck with the dolls !

Hi VickyPea

Right, think i'll have some lunch and then-

Declutter one shelf on b/case
More bedroom declutter
finish ironing

Everyone have a top afternoon

Vicky Happy to help. This thread is the thing for people like you (and me too!)

Glad you've picked up some tips already. My house was simply a hotspot too but many have gone out and are now extinct. I do find any flat surface near doors become an instant hotspot. I need a fire extinguisher in my FLY kit.

You'll probably find the babysteps a good place to get started. You'll be shining your sink in no time.

Glad you want to join us. Enjoy

Hi everyone.

Welcome Vickypea. Flylady is a system which helpes break down housework into manageable chunks. You build up a routine so it doesnt get on top of you.

Well, afternoon routine done and I just spent 30 mins going through all of the drawers in my dressing table. I've got rid of old make-up, rehomed all of my watches and jewellery to relavent boxes and also cleared all of the crap off the top of it. Looks lovely.

Afternoon all

Not much FLYing done today, except decluttering teh paperwork piles. Went to TotsBop this morning followed, finaly, by the library. Actualy got some books out for me on positive thinking, hand made cards and the latest Terry Brooks book, will have to set my timer or I'll have my nose in a book all day!
DS has just finished his lunch after a 3.5hr nap, I'd better go and get on with the washing up before getting dd from school.
Welcome Vicky
Hello to everyone else, sorry this is really short but have to do some more FLYing today, or will feel completely useless.

Oh, we aren't going until the 13th....nearly 2 weeks to go yet. I'm looking forward to it already though.
We went to Tenby when I was pregnant with DD2, DD1 was only 3 and a bit and DS wasn't even walking! That was to a Haven site. We had a brilliant time. The entertainment is great for the kids. DD1 will love the disco, and they will all love the pool.

I really don't care if it rains either! We have managed all summer with the rain!!

Welcome vickypea

Tort I remember you going to Haven...I think your girls loved Anxious the Elephant just as much as my DD1 did

Oh FGS! I have got on really well today - kept up with work and the house, shopping delivered, laundry done. Just got back from work (15mile round trip), sat down at pc doen some paperwork on the computer (logged into shop pc from home - very clever!) printed off delivery slips...then realised the slips were printing out at the shop!! No means to re-print so I now have to drive the 15mile trip again to collect it all Lesson learnt for tomorrow.

it's never as easy as it seems is it?
