How does one do this? Assuming you don't have an airing cupboard??? Or is it simply code for this jumper will never look the same again after you have washed it once???

Lol! I just do it on a towel flat on the floorboards, nearish a radiator if it's winter.

I put my clothes airer up and spread the jumper along the middle rungs.

I dismantle a clotheshorse and lay one panel of it flat over the bath

Stick it on a radiator. Life's too short for stuff like this.

I never ever dry flat, as don't have any where to do it. Just makes sure all water is out (spin it) and put over radiator.

I somtimes drape mine over the bannnister on the landing which is less angled than a radiator, but have never ever dried anything flat.

Makes no difference if all the water is wrung out. I do shape it before I hang it over though.

I teach textile science, and it really only maters if the fibres are ful of water which would distort the shape

You buy an airing rack (aka clothes horse) in John Lewis that has a horizontal position.
