Seriously?

Inside out

Sides then middle

Fold and re-iron

Repeat.

LittleMissNorty · 19/09/2008 21:52
  1. don't bother
  2. pay someone else to do it
lucysmam · 19/09/2008 21:57

erm, why?

Hang on line as straight as you can, fold while still on line into a long oblong type shape then drag off line & fold into a square-ish shape. You can't tell f they've been ironed anyways after 1 nigt sleeping under them! Unless you want to iron it every day?

LynetteScavo · 19/09/2008 21:57

I don't.
Life is too short.

traceybath · 19/09/2008 21:58

king size duvet i go all around the edges first and then do middle.

then fold in half and iron and so on.

ironed bed linen is one of the great luxuries in my opinion

whomovedmychocolate · 19/09/2008 21:59

Slatterns

They feel nicer when they are ironed and it destroys residual bacteria too!

ChippyMinton · 19/09/2008 22:00

iron?
tumble dry, whip out of dryer whilst warm, and fold neatly.

Twims · 19/09/2008 22:01

Doing nannying for a couple at the moment whilst their nanny is off and I have had to iron a couple of duvet covers, but seem to have a problem working ut how to do the

OP posts:
SlartyBartFast · 19/09/2008 22:02

not,
line dry, soon flattens in airing cupboard

cafebistro · 19/09/2008 22:06

Dont iron them

nannyL · 20/09/2008 12:34

i start at the bottom and do the right hand side

when i get to the top i flip it round and start at the top and do the let hand side down to the bottom again

I iron on the top side (ie the side you see when the bed is made)

undercovercat · 20/09/2008 12:35

I dont.

Cappuccino · 20/09/2008 12:36

residual bacteria ffs

the day I worry about residual bacteria on my duvet is the day I start taking baths in disinfectant

deanychip · 20/09/2008 12:49

i dont either, i hang mine over the banister straight when it comes out of the washer to dry, then fold it up when its dry the next day.

PuppyMonkey · 20/09/2008 13:00

PMSL at residual bacteria... I don't iron either. Buy good quality and you don't need to.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 20/09/2008 13:02

iron a duvet cover?????? i thought i was bad ironing dh's undies! but a duvet cover?

sammybeth · 20/09/2008 13:02

I dont they get creased when you get into bed anyway!!

NumberFour · 20/09/2008 14:25

life's too short to iron duvet covers.

Skramble · 22/09/2008 22:52

I don't normaly bother but if it looks crumpled when on or making a special effort , I have been known to run the iron over it once on the bed. Kids think it is hilarious, but it works and easier than wrestling it over the ironing board only to crumple in when putting it on the duvet.
