Lunch boxes - does anyone use paper food bags rather than plastic?

was thinking of doing this -they are slightly cheaper and more environmentally friendly but wondered how they survived in lunchboxes so anyone use them?

We use these though dh says they are the gayest thing he has ever seen! Still gets his lunch in one!

We don't use bags at all. We have a wide range of different-sized plastic containers and put those inside a larger sandwich box.
They last for years and are leakproof.

I've used them before for the dc but they don't take much moisture, so if anything like cucumber or the likes is involved it can go abit soggy.

They are really good, DD ( 22!) has a very full sandwich - today a breaded chicket fillet sliced with mayo, tomatoes lettuce and cucumber, about 2 inches thick. These hold it together really well and she has a mat to eat off at her desk at work. No mess, fantastic, I am going to order some more.

I use plastic boxes for everything. One initial monetary pay out and then I use them for years before recycling once not useable anymore.

Ordered some - will let you know Mars how they are when they arrive!

I love them. they are wipe clean, you can wash them at 30 degrees if they get really scuzzy. They do have a label for name and class so you could really shame the older kids by writing that info on?
They are not so great with rolls, 2 rolls is a real squash. BUt for common or garden sarns they are the business.

Well they came today and they look so cute! DS1 looked at me and said "My mates would have a laugh if they saw me pulling one of those out of my bag!" So I told him I bought him two lol!

They're so cute. I should've ordered one for myself!

What are they made from? Is it like the laminated tablecloth stuff?

I think they are ludicrously expensive. We are in the lots-of-plastic-boxes camp here at flibberty towers.

You can use the lids off them as a plate at your desk y'know

But I might have a go at making some of these sandwich wrap type things for friends' xmas pressies.

FJ you probably could make them. Only the inside is "laminated" and they have velcro strips to keep them together.

You don't want to know how many plastic boxes (or should I say the lids of said boxes) that go missing in this house. Besides... I'm a sucker for something pretty!

these look great but are expensive aren't they! (we are 5 so that'd be around £25!!).

I used to use paper bags from lakeland which are good but now i just use a plastic box for things as they seem to have gone off sandwiches

use a food flask in winter for soup/pasta

Mine arrived the next day. They are gorgeous. Put DD2's tuna mayonnaise and sweetcorn sandwich in it. I asked her if it held the sandwich safely and she said yes! Wiped it clean and put a fresh sandwich in again today. Her friends think it's gorgeous so she's beaming. The DTs start school tomorrow so I'll let you know how it works for them tomorrow evening.

I showed them to a friend and a few others all ordered them. I love them!

They are very cute.

I do love the american style paper bags though. Good for muffins and home-made cakes.

AbbaFan where do you get your american style bags from? I have ordered these wrapits for their sandwiches but need something for ricecakes etc that they also take for snack time.

I got some off e-bay last time.
