Can anyone recommend a good cleaning product for my mirrorred wardrobe doors etc, preferably nice smelling but above all non-smearing?

TIA

White vinegar works well.

Indith · 12/08/2008 15:10

1 part vinegar to 1 part water in a spray bottle with old newspaper.

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 15:21

Ah this is the problem - I should have said I am trying to avoid vinegar in favour of something a bit more pleasant smelling...

i think all the usual glass cleaners are good but the trick is to use dry kitchen paper to remove it.

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 15:26

Can you remember any names DB?

mr muscle or windolene i suppose.

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 15:32

Thanks db

I shall try one of those instead of toiling away with the hot soapy water![clueless emoticon]

there might be a more environmentally friendly one by ecover, but the others are good.
spray it on sparingly, then remove with dry kitchen paper.

FeelingLucky · 12/08/2008 15:37

I just use an e-cloth (damp and wrung out v dry)

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 15:45

What is an e-cloth? Is it the same as a j-cloth?

God I really need to become a bit more domesticated....

google it ppc. they are thicker microfibre type cloths. for me the disadvantage is that they have to be washed separately from the rest of the laundry.
but you don't use chemicals so that's good.

tassisssss · 12/08/2008 15:49

I like windowlene

windowlene wipes are fab!

my mother and my dh use Mr Sheen (or tescos own as the case may be!) furniture polish.

MadameCheese · 12/08/2008 15:51

try Method, it is minty fresh

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 15:52

I use Nilglass available from Lakeland.

Dragonbutter · 12/08/2008 15:53

get yourself some sunglasses while you're at it. it might feel a bit bright to begin with.....exactly how long has it been since you cleaned your windows?

CarGirl · 12/08/2008 15:56

spontex window cloth (it is a very soft very very dense microfibre cloth) doesn't need anything to clean perhaps a tiny bit damp if it's really sticky - usual I just breath dampness onto the patio doors and that's enough.

Stick cloth in the wash lasts forever

I have converted several friends onto them.

Love2bake · 12/08/2008 16:10

Micro-fibre cloths are fab. I just use water with mine.

FeelingLucky · 12/08/2008 17:26

ecloth
good for general dusting too. not sure if you have to wash separately, but i know you're supposed to wash them at 90 degrees. when mine gets really dirty, I just bung them in with a 60 degrees whites wash and it's been fine

PinkPussyCat · 12/08/2008 18:51

Dragonbutter

How very dare you!

Great suggestions (even the sunglasses) I knew that there had to be some stuff out there that isn't vinegar or hot soapy water.

I heart MN!
