You may remember a discussion we had a while ago about ironing.

Well i'm now totally converted to not ironing, i tumble dry as much as i can and hand it up stright away.

Anyway my question is can you get away with tumble drying DP smart, work trousers, don't want to shrink them???

Have to tumble everything in summer as dh has such bad hayfever. Anything hung out gets pollen on and he thinks I am trying to kill him!

It's fine saying don't tumble dry but if you live in a flat it's a bit tricky. I wash and hang lots of stuff but get one service wash a week at the launderette, which necessarily involves tumble drying. We would be permanently surrounded by wet clothes otherwise as we have nowhere to hang them outside...

I tumble-dry almost everything but I refuse to feel guilty about it as it's the one thing that saves my housework sanity. I couldn't imagine my life without one! But I've also never had any luck with this 'not ironing' thing. I get stuff out of the machine and hang it up and smooth out creases straightaway but clothes still look awful and need ironing

i hang stuff on airers in the bathroom

i find all the creases disappear once you wear things

i have a high spin speed too so things are not that wet

Just wanted to add to this- didn't want to start new thread... Visited a friend in America a few weeks back, and she lives in one of these gorgeous new estates with a home owners association that dictates what the homeowners can and cannot do- and one of the rules is that they can't have washing lines. They are considered unsightly! Can you believe that!!?? I'm sending her info from Greenpeace to show to them!!!
