Teas Stains on cups

So.

When I moved in with my now EX his mother came round to 'help unpack' and spent an hour scrubbing my cups beause they were 'dirty'.

Do you have totally pristine cups? Mine always have teastains in them, as in a build up of good tea over the years. They are pottery type cups rather than china.

mine are pristine. Using a d/w helps, but if they get stained I either bleach them or use milton in them.

Use denture cleaner (tablets) in them - gets rid of the stains, but is a bit friendlier than bleach (I assume, since they're meant for things that are going to go back in someone's moth).

'pottery type' cups do stain easily. I don't tend to have mine long enough to get too stained - cheapy ones that break easily.

I like mine stained though I am not asking for tips! My EX's mum put bleach in them!

I don't like drinking out of stained tea cups. I know they're clean. It looks so unappealing.

forevercleaning · 06/07/2008 17:15

milton tabs are good.

LazyLinePainterJane · 06/07/2008 17:19

I don't care if they are stained. Who cares? I would rather drink out of a stained tea cup (stained with TEA, BTW, does it matter ffs?) that drink out of one that has been filled with bleach!

Baking Soda is good too. Just mix a little with water and leave to soak for a while. Wash as normal. Should do the job.

ranting · 06/07/2008 20:25

Ours are fine but we have a dishwasher, however my mum always puts baking soda in hers to soak overnight when they get stained.

Do you think baking soda would work on tea stained teaspoons?
