what things do you do to save time/effort that are a bit random?

i have large plastic boxes for storage, i emptied them they were quite dusty. i couldnt be bothered with a cloth, so i prayed a bit of ecover on then flung them in the bath and used the shower to hose them. excellent and no elbow grease required.

Cleaning Venetian blinds-soak in the bath with washing powder, rinse with shower, hang on line, voila!
No fiddly wiping at all.

hire a housekeeper and cleaner. housework is bliss when you dont have to do any of it

I am always hosing things down in the bath too. My other favourite is vacuuming up everything, ie not dusting but running the vacuum hose over a table etc.

Not exactly cleaning - more tidying but if I'm in a hurry to tidy up, I throw everything I find that belongs somewhere else into clear plastic box and each week my DC take it in turns to empty it and put everything away.

Tying damp cloths to the children and letting them wrestle on the floor.
