Laminate flooring in a boiling hot conservatory? Is it a good idea....

...anyone tried it? Just wondered if the laminate survives the temperature changes when the sun is out or do you end up with a nice undulating effect?! Have to leave the windows closed while we're out which means it does get roasting hot in there.

Sorry not tried it but how about stone tiles they would be nice a cool underfoot

Have you considered tiling it? It's much harder wearing and more attractive IMO. Laminate often ends up looking quite shabby quite quickly.

Don't do it! I moved into a property with boiling hot cons/laminate floor and they looked shite within weeks.

AGree stone floor tiles would be a much better choice.

lovely cool stone or slate would be better !

I have laminate in mine and it's fine.
Tiles would be lovely but you would need underfloor heating in winter as it is very cold then.

We have wooden flooring rather than laminate and it's absolutely fine.

Ours is fine. We were warned about it getting too hot and also about it getting wet as we use conservatory as main entrance etc but its survived everything and looks great 18 months on!

kardean is fine in conservatory, just make sure you use the right sort of adhesive

Thanks for the advice. Was trying to avoid tiling as have done that before and it was a pita (due to floor not being level), although agree would be more hardwearing. It's only small area so will prob give laminate a go and if it doesn't work, it's not the end of the world. And will get a massive doormat!
