I use finish powerball dishwasher tablets, sainsburys rinse aid, vanish powder, fairy max power liquid, flash floor liquid, cif cleanser, flash bathroom cleaner, fairy non bio liquid and comfort pure softener.

I used to use all Ecover products but then found them not that effective. My SIL tried Purdy and Fig but then either didn’t like products or subscription service.

I’ve used Smol laundry tablets for a while and may buy them again.

What do others use? I’ve never been into washing pods apart from Smol.

Currently, for all cleaning, Fairy washing up liquid (non leak one), Fairy power spray, Cif power spray, Cif cream cleaner, Flash speed mop, Viakil limescale remover sometimes & bleach. Clothes washing: Persil non bio powder and Fairy outdoorables (blue one) and sometimes Vanish for whites.

Everything Aldi. Can’t be beaten.

TheeNotoriousPIG · 16/08/2026 17:49

I use Finish dishwasher powder/Tesco home brand lemon tablets, Tesco rinse aid, Method rhubarb or almond floor cleaner, Method spray cleaners, Harpic loo cleaner gels and occasionally the tablets, Tesco non-bio laundry powder, and sometimes gold Lenor/Comfort softener. I keep a bottle of Fairy Liquid in the cupboard for soaking some things, like greasy pots or sheep shearing clipper blades, but it dries my hands out a lot!

Laundry: I’ve tried all the above. I genuinely don’t think anything come close to https://www.frenchsoaps.co.uk/collections/natural-laundry-products

dishwasher: I use their powder as I order from them but it’s not better or worse than others.

Household sprays and washing up, also products form Fer a Cheval.

Laundry.... Morrisons own non bio soap powder. Always comfort fabric conditioner and vanish for tough stains.
Fairy washing up liquid, astonish multi surface cleaner and domestios bleach spray for the toilet and bathroom. Only thing that cleans it properly

ThatWasAFunDay · 16/08/2026 19:40

Aldi laundry detergent as it does really well in Which for the price. I only go to Aldi once every few month to bulk buy it. Other than that I use whatever is on special offer. I’ve got nearly three years supply of dishwasher tablets in that were an ama ing bargain. I love doing big bulk buys then I don’t even think about cleaning products.

I like neat white vinegar and vaikal. I do a Costco delivery about once a year for kitchen towel and loo roll.
I’ve no strong preferences other than not liking strong scents.

Custard cream scented kitchen spray was a big mistake. I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought that.

gingercat02 · 16/08/2026 19:40

Fairy for dishes. Morrisons own brand cleaning products, the pink stuff paste, Sainsbury's dishwasher powder and Morrisons own brand salt and rinse aid. Morrisons washing powder, don't use fabric softener.

B0D · 16/08/2026 21:22

Lidl bio washing powder (also for washing vinyl kitchen floor) Fairy original for dishes ( Lidl washing powder if desperate or for baked on greasy oven trays)
cif cream in bathroom/ kitchen.
a bar soap (Italian I think) for laundry stains
Sainsbury’s gentle hand washing liquid from

JonBonJ · 16/08/2026 22:34

I like to use dish soap, white vinegar, rubbing alcohol and/or a steam cleaner.
That covers most cleaning.

Other than that, I find Lidl own brands work for everything else.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 16/08/2026 22:35

I think I’ll try Method and the Aldi Lidl stuff. I did use a Method bathroom cleaner which was ok. I mostly shop at Sainsburys, and the small Tescos near my work. My SIL swears by Waitrose non bio washing powder and they use Co Op washing up liquid (nearest small shop to them sells it). I don’t even think they use stain removers and they have a 2.5 and 8 year old boys.

I actually did like the Smol pods so may get those again as the liquid detergent is in a huge bottle!
