Best way to disinfect taps properly after washing hands

What is the best way to regularly sanitise and disinfect taps after washing my hands?

I don't have a mixer tap so it is not as easy as using my wrist or elbow to turn on the tap after handling chicken for example.

I use a dettol disinfectant spray regularly but I feel like it doesn't reach all the nooks and crannies of the tap and bits are being missed.

I have had my own home for 40 years.
I have never sanitised or disinfected a tap (or even knew it was A Thing).
We are never ill.

Give yourself a break, OP, smell the flowers, read a book..... and don't waste your time on unnecessary cleaning.

You have invented a new job OP

Dont let this take up any brain space

Fill a small bowl with soapy water in the sink before you handle the food. Then it's ready waiting and you don't need to touch the taps. Late DM always used to do it like this.

This isn’t a thing. Just clean the sink every day at the end of the day and then wash your hands in another sink if you’re bothered about it. Viakal for the kitchen sink is really good at getting it shiny and they do a disinfectant one now.

Meant to point To @Miranda65and @Glitterbiscuits

Don't do it. Step away from this thought process if you're able to. If you're not able to, seek some support.

Don't start disinfecting taps after or before washing your hand, it's not a healthy habit

Replace the tap. Every single time. Or just once for a mixer one.

Don't cook chicken, or anything food wise, have it all delivered ready to eat.

I mean, come on are you germphobic? What you are asking is a bit OTT. But look, if that's what you want to do, I'd see what the food safety rules are for catering/food prep in a professional kitchen. You might be surprised.

I don't touch raw chicken (or any raw meat!) with my bare hands - I use a knife and fork 🤣 I'm veggie but cook meat for everyone else. No need to sterilise taps!
