Morning

Hi....hope you don't mind me popping in. I've done the 'fly' before but not lately.

Hope everyone ok. Wet and miserable day here today. Still managed to get two big loads of washing done. Tumble Drier is still broken (and banned!) so having to resort to hanging on clothes expander thingys in the bathroom.

Fed up with the kids making so much mess. Well, no, actually its only DD2 (4yo) who leaves a trail of destruction from room to room. I've now told her that whatever she leaves out for me to tread on, stump toes on or kick (by accident) across the room will be placed in the bin. Yes, I have already put quite a bit in the bin and yes I will retrieve it all later when she's gone to bed and hide in a cupboard somewhere until she learns to put stuff away! Cruel Mummy aren't I?

babyjjbaby · 21/06/2008 16:31

whispy wisp glad i am not the only person struggling to dry the washing i got half a clothers airer in the awning a full one out side which i keep getting in everytime i see s pots of rain and 2 arms on the line drying we neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed the sunshine back lol

dylsmum1998 · 21/06/2008 16:44

whispy whisp i do this to my ds too, i took 2 bin bags of stuff out his room cos he wouldnt tidy it the other month and put it in my sisters car. i told him i'd taken it to the charity shop. a couple of weeks later i sorted through it and put it away when he was at school.

Yes getting washing dry, atm, is a pain in the bum, especially jeans and towels. I've got a gazebo outside I might just put a couple of bungees across and stick some towels out there. Its warm outside but just piddling all the time. Flipping annoying!

Have just had to do something I was dreading....removing my dog's dressing following her spay op on Thursday. The vet said give it two days and remove the dressing. I'm sure they used super-glue to stick it on. Poor little mite. It took two of us to remove it and a big bowl of water. They stuck it right underneath where her teats are and she's looking very sorry for herself now.

So yes got a few jobs done today. Nothing drastic. Simply pottered about. Fitted a trip into the local library to stock up on some more reading material. I love to read. My biggest hobby. Kids loving reading too.

Tea has been eaten. All washed up and put away (courtesy of DH) and now a large glass of wine has been poured for me so must go and guzzle it!

Did someone mention a choccie biscuit? Oh yes please.... xx

sagacious · 21/06/2008 18:22

Can I have a chocolate biscuit if theres one going?

School fete today
Started at 9am setting stuff out didn't leave until 5.20pm

No lunch but 4 bottles of becks

I am knackered

ds is trying to hammer a nail through a coconut

its not going to end well is it?

whispywhisp · 21/06/2008 18:25

Hammer a nail thru a coconut? Tell your DS to use a cordless drill!!!!

dylsmum1998 · 21/06/2008 18:34

saga give him a claw hammer- works much better

oh choccie biscuits i bought some earlier in asda they cadbury chocolate on shortbread biscuits. will wait til dd finishes picking at her dinner before i get them out tho

whispywhisp · 21/06/2008 19:17

Oh my DD does that...picks at her dinner. She always puts her order in for pudding before even a mouthful of her dinner has gone in. I can cook a meal one day...she'll eat the lot telling me how lovely it is. Do a similar/if not same meal a few days later and its 'disgusting'.... She's only 4yrs old but already a 4yr old with her own mind and attitude. My 9yr old would eat a plate of runner beans or sprouts without a murmur of a complaint. So different.

Bewilderbeast · 21/06/2008 19:19

DOG FREE TO A GOOD ANY HOME...ANYONE INTERESTED? Lovely temperament and very good at tripping people up!

dylsmum1998 · 21/06/2008 22:33

have had a fun evening. cut out shapes for dd's princess hat, she painted it and herself.. and me
ds was brought home. we sat scoffing bikkies watching tv.
dd wanted to read stories so we laid on my bed reading for ages. dd gave me a kiss and hug and said goodnight mummy and krept out the room shutting the dor behind her- i was being put to bed. then we done some drawing and she's now in bed.
ds is on route to bed now- he's such a pain when he has stayed at his nan and grandads he comes home with such a chip on his shoulder grr. hopefully he'll be better when he wakes up.
tomorrow is a new day and all that.
just wait for them to both be asleep then i shall be off to bed am knackered

Jas · 21/06/2008 23:24

Ruby - When there are 100 of them you need to be Sergent Major!

Whispy - I have two washing lines strung up in the shed. Sheets and towels dry quicker on there than the airer, because I have to fold/overlap them on the airer.
for your fall.

Big to eeryone else.

I took the dds to the park, and swimming today. Our local pool needed children for trainee swimming teachers to practice on, so they got an hour lesson each for £1 We'll be back there tomorrow.

TheMadHouse · 21/06/2008 23:29

Jas That is great re the swimming. My two love the swimming.

I am hoping that people dont mind DS1 in the pool with a scabby back from the pox - what do you think. All of them are scabbed over

Jas · 21/06/2008 23:33

People with children won't mind (or at least I wouldn't)
Be prepared to have to explain what it is though.

I spent one very hot summer sat on the side of the pool in long trousers because my eczema was so bad I couldn't uncover my legs

TheMadHouse · 21/06/2008 23:36

We are also going to take his wet suit for if the weather good, although it inst forcaste
