How hot is your UF heating?

Just had this fitted in the bathroom and wondering if it’s working properly? It’s on it’s max heat which is 30 degrees, it is I would say slightly warm on bare feet, has just taken the chill off. It’s under quite thin porcelain like tiles. I was expecting heat, like a radiator? Is that not what UFH is? Never had it before?

It's certainly not hot like a radiator, if it was it would be too hot to walk on. It's a pleasant chill-off warmth.

It does take a while to warm up, and in a bathroom I'd have the door closed and wait about an hour and a half to 2 hours before it's at full temperature

We have UF heating downstairs and we don’t notice it when it is on but when we lost power a few years ago due to repairs after a storm we noticed it after a few days. It shouldn’t be hot like a rad, just warm.

If tiles feel nice to walk on, not chilly, it’s on and doing its job.

UFH works differently to radiators. This is a very non-expert view…. But it seems to heat the house up slowly, then it retains the heat. So it’s a more even temp all day, rather than getting a blast of heat when it clicks on.

I think it’s nicer over all, but you can’t really get a boost of heat from it when you want to warm up quickly.

Obviously not radiator hot because you’d burn your feet but it’s obviously warm, more like a heated seat in your car if you want a comparison. If you set it to a more normal temp like 22 for example, does it actually feel like a 22 degree room or is it distinctly colder?
