Best way to clean venetian blinds without too much faff - anyone??

Does anyone have an 'easy' way to clean venetian blinds? I have them in every room and some are now filthy. I know you can get those slatted blind cleaners, but I tried one and it was so filthy after just a couple of slats that it had to be cleaned! Admittedly it was a very cheap one.

Cleaning the wooden blinds will be easier as they are firmer and thicker slats but I have some flimsy pvc ones that move around so much when being cleaned.

It's one of the final jobs and I just keep putting it off as I know it's going to be exhausting.

Rub over with scented tumble dryer sheets, the dirt/dust comes off really well with them. I do them closed on both sides, then use slatted blind cleaner when open.

Odd sock over your hand and create a glove puppet with your hand and “bite” your slat. Then move it horizontally along the slat. Some people dampen the sock.

I got rid of all of the Venetian blinds I inherited though bc they are so faddly to clean and you can’t put any weight on the slats! Drove me mad!

@Deflectalittle678 - oh, thats a good idea! You just reminded me that I have a load of old socks under the sink specifically for cleaning purposes!

Take them off.. put them in the bath vertically and spray them with the shower, squirt of shower gel and give them a scrub with an old cloth.. rinse. Leave them in the bath to dry 😉

Take them down, tie on washing line. Hose. Leave to dry. Rehang.

@CarefulNow1999 - Thank you, they look good. Probably easier than a regular cloth, trying to get it between the slats.
