Hello,
I am looking to get a separate washing machine and dryer (not a combo). With two DC and a mountain of laundry every week, I’m hoping to invest in something mid to higher range that’s reliable and can cope with frequent use.

Would really appreciate recommendations for brands/models you love.
Thanks in advance!

Miele.

I love our Haier washing machine. Think it's a 9 or 10kg capacity. It has been faultless for the last 4 years. Would definitely replace like for like when the time comes.

I have a Candy dryer. Couldn’t be more happy with it. My washing is Hisense, well it’s actually a washer dryer but has a design fault that means the fluff goes into the dryer works and it stops, hence buyer a separate dryer. About to replace washing machine with a reasonably basic one that does a 7 or 8kg load and as long as it does a basic wash of 30, 60 & 90 degrees I’m not interested in other functions. I would like one of those where you can drop a sock in after you’ve started it but refuse to pay the extra for a machine with that. Eventually in years to come they will all do that

Miele.

I am leaning towards Miele so far, any particular model that you recommend if you have bought recently?

Totally agree that all the fancy extras just drive up the price!

My Haier washing machine is great. It runs most days copes with football kit, period pants, a 9yo who occasionally soils himself.

don’t have a tumble dryer so can’t comment there.

There was a thread the other day saying that Miele aren't worth paying extra for now.

I always get Siemens and have never had any issues. They often come with a 5 year guarantee.

Bosch series 6 washing machine and condenser dryer. Bought both in 2018 when we bought our house and still going strong for a family of five. We wash at least 3 times a week and use the dryer as well. It has short cycles, long cycles, preferred finish times for overnight washes (I use this a lot). Cannot fault it.

Our Bosch Serie 2 washing machine has been going strong since Q2 2021, no issues. Only 7kg tho so you’ll need bigger I think.

Also delighted with our AEG 8000 series tumble drier which was a Which best buy, bought just over a year ago. Really effective and came with a 5 year guarantee.

I have just upgraded my twenty year old Bosch fit the series 6 washing machine, and invested in the new condenser dryer to replace an old Hotpoint.

My god..... The difference. Quiet. Washes better. The dryer is fabulous. My clothes come out soft and dry! I don't use conditioner, but everything in now soft rather than crisp. The old dryer just fragged them.

All my appliances are now Bosch, and can't fault them. 20 years since going strong on the dishwasher. Just replaced 25 year old Miele fridge and freezer with Bosch too. Modern machines are fab!

I would never buy Chinese on principle.

AEG.

We bought Miele 2 yrs ago, the washing machine is called Passion WWV980 9kg and the dryer is TWL780WP 9kg Ecospeed and steam. I bought Miele because they used to provide a 10yr warranty and had excellent reviews. Ours only have a 2yr warranty but I hope they still last. Given the price, I can't say the cleaning is any better than the bosch we used to have though, but I do like the autodos function.

Miele do have a factory outlet and the stock changes daily. If you have a blue light card, you can phone them and get 20% off full price stock. You can't get a reduction on the reduced stock though.

Yeah, you’re right. I was just reading some Miele reviews and they don’t seem as good as they used to be and with only a 2 year guarantee, it doesn’t feel worth the extra cost.
