Best way to spot clean clothes and general ways to stay neat

I do childcare for my baby in the day, and work in the evenings- and I am just getting through clothes so quickly and am absolutely gross.

logged on for a call with a US colleague and the snail trail of snot that I thought I had cleaned off with a wet wipe was just absolutely gleaming in my ring light

generally in a situation like that I would have changed tops, but I was in a bit of a rush. I sit on a couple of boards locally and sometimes will have to meet in person and it would be so handy to chuck a smart blazer on top instead of a complete costume change.

But i am going through clothes so quickly. I already have so much laundry through my grubby eldest and weaning baby, that me getting filthy is just creating more chaos

today my eldest accidentally licked a can of diet coke all over my jeans today, brand new on, didn’t even last a morning.

do you have any tips for spot cleaning clothes most effectively? Any wonder products with a sponge attached? Any tips?

i am on the verge of ordering a housecoat I am so fed up

A houseboat is the way to go, lightweight, easy to wash and dry and you can quickly take them off for any zoom calls or when unexpected visitors arrive .

You need to be more strict with yourself about keeping childcare clothes (anything old and worn) completely separate from Zoom / meeting clothes.

Have your good clothes ready - washed, ironed and hung up, so you can change a top or put on a jacket very quickly. Those clothes should never come into contact with small children - that way they won’t require constant laundering. And they’ll look good for longer.

There really isn’t another way.

Agree with home clothes and work clothes.

Home clothes are those that wash and dry easily.

Work clothes washed and ironed and then worn for work only. When you get home/off the laptop take it off and hang up again. If you wore it for a few hours only, wear it again tomorrow or rotate 2/3 each night. Wash after a few wears.

What about an apron, especially the wrap around ones. You can get some pretty ones.
