I've just been reading the decluttering thread and noticed lots of people are putting stuff on vinted.

Any hints?

Take really good photos, measurements are helpful, and so is fabric content and don’t over price!

Snowonground · 01/01/2026 17:44

Low prices if you want to get rid of things quickly.

Include the size and any key details in the title. It's amazing how many people don't bother when it makes a big difference in whether someone will click on the listing or not.

ThirdStorm · 01/01/2026 18:43

Include the actual label size. Ideally a photo of it.

Oldandgreyer · 02/01/2026 16:29

Thanks - very useful. I am rubbish at taking photos but we have one of those lights and I know light always helps.
The label is a good idea!

This

price to sell. If it doesnt go in 7 days it wont sell generally

Also include a photo of the garment care label and fabric content.

I like to see a photo of the garment laid flat with a tape measure across too.

All really good tips so far. I’d add to make sure it’s ironed if possible (the number of listings with really creased clothes is 🤯). Also make sure you include the size in the title as well as the description. Since Vinted changed the way they categorise size it’s a real PITA to have to go through listings for sizes that aren’t mine but come up in search because they’ve bundled two sizes together (eg 8-10 when I’m for example a 10).

Nomdemare · 03/01/2026 07:56

some great tips here!

If you have a lot of things to sell don’t list them all in one go. Upload several items of the same type/style for example 3 size 10 dresses. This encourages people to buy bundles as they will save on postage. Upload 3 or 5 items every 24 hours as you will get a boost to your viewings for a longer period.

Uploading on Thursday and Sunday early evening seems to be the best times to get things sold straight away for some reason. I saw a TikTok mentioning this and shared it with friends and we’ve all agreed.

I like to see a photo of the item being worn as I haven't a good eye for "hanger appeal" but I know that actually puts some people off.
Make sure you've picked a good photo of the item to go alongside the description that people see as they're scrolling down.
I'm always surprised by eg shoes appearing next to a photo of the shoebox they came in. Usually can't be bothered to click on the item to then see the actual shoes.
Plenty of good photos of the item from all sides and remember to put the material it's made from - lots of people don't.

I disagree about things not selling in 7 days. It took me a month to sell all my most expensive dresses but they all sold at no discount, one had over 240 favourites.

stolenpromises · 10/01/2026 08:26

I don’t agree with the 7 day thing either. I have just sold stuff this week that’s been on since November. I’d say if you want a £5 for something, list it for £6 or £6.50. People will likely give you an offer anyway. You can accept that offer or then negotiate your own price.
