Food Shopping - what's your monthly bill like?

Our house seems to heamorrage (sp)money and I have decided that it is my thrice weekly trips (at least) to Tescos that is the problem. I am paranoid about running out of things, and although I do a big shop, I then go loads of times for little bits (we eat loads of fruit and need bread etc)but end up buying stuff we don't need.

To combat it, I now go to Lidl as much as possible instead of Tescos, and have started keeping a spreadsheet of each time I go and what I spend. Anal I know.....but need visibility of it....it looks as though I will spend £400 this month. We are a family of 4, (2 DSs nearly 2 and nearly 4), and the boys eat loads, although 3 days a week are fed at nursery....

Thanks

Bloss

I spend about £250 per month when DH is away, and about £400 when he is home. (Me, DH and 3 children, 2 in nappies)

Oh dear, I must spend about £500+ a month on 4 of us - 2 x DC, and I never throw any food away! We must be the greediest pigs out there!
Mind you, that does include cleaning / laundry / toiletries, etc
