Miele Duoflex HX1 cordless vacuum.

Has anyone got one of these? I want to replace my Vax cordless vacuum cleaner which is rubbish. I have a Miele cylinder vacuum cleaner which is really good but very heavy to pull out every day. I have had a Dyson in the past which I didn't rate at all. I only have hard floors and find that the Vax and Dyson just scattered anything bigger than a microscopic grain of dust rather that pick it up.

Would you recommend the Miele or is there another cordless that you would rate. I don't really want to pay the cost of the Triflex although I do rate Miele.

Many thanks

I recently bought the HX1. I would have loved the newer model as the battery position can be lowered so it's not as heavy. My best friend has HX2 so I used hers. She also has a 2nd battery.
The HX1 doesn't have the option of a 2nd battery as you need a screwdriver to remove the battery whereas hers just slips off easily.
However I'm very happy with my HX1. The standard power setting is enough to do my entire house, lasts about 50 minutes. I have only hard floors with 2 large mats in living areas. The hoover detects the mat so increases power, this obviously eats up the battery time more. Its not heavy really, I don't find it difficult to use. Easy to empty and excellent suction. I recommend it, I had a corded Henry and haven't used it since I got my miele. I did go into a local electrical shop to trial it vs a cordless henry so I would also recommend you do that as it made my mind up for me.

I did buy one which arrived a couple of days ago and so far I'm impressed. It doesn't scatter anything around like my Vax does, it actually picks up everything including cat litter which my cat likes to throw around. I know it's early days but so far so good. The dust bin is very small so needs to be emptied every time but that's a small price to pay.

I'm pleased to see the positive comments.

I've had a Miele HX1 for over a year now which works very well but it's my first cordless so I can't compare it to other makes.
