I'm willing to spend some money on one that is worth it. Hexclad seems to be good and has a lifetime guarantee but there are quite a few others on the "best" list.
Have you been using one for several years and are still happy with it? What make is it?

Scoville never stick are excellent.
I would be wary of Hexclad, the reviews vary dramatically…

CanadianUKimmigrant · 17/10/2025 10:55

@Nevergotdivorced
Really? They're less than £20... How long have you been using yours? Can you cook eggs in it and not have them stick?

They are really excellent!
I’ve been using mine about 9 months, I have now purchased all their roasting tins etc.

Ninja are good.

Talipesmum · 17/10/2025 11:13

I bought a few new ones about 8 months ago so not long enough for a “several years” test - ninja zerostick. They are excellent so far.

I can’t remember the make of the failed one we had before that - it was something decent and weighty anyway, not cheap.

I’ve more or less come to the conclusion after 25 years of trying, that for me, good quality non stick lasts for longer and is a better pan than cheap non stick overall, but none of it lasts for ever and the trick is in working out when to move on! I’ve also got a lot better at cooking on excellent solid weight stainless steel pans, and learning how to do it so things don’t stick. I have NOT got better at the “my cast iron pan is seasoned and I don’t need to wash it” thing - never managed to achieve that zen-like state of perfection!

@Talipesmum
I hear you on everything you've mentioned, including the cast iron comment. I would LOVE to be able to cook eggs in a cast iron or stainless steel pan but just can't get the knack (hey, wasn't there a song...?). It's unrealistic to expect a nonstick pan to stay that way indefinitely but surely a couple of years is possible?
I'm having a close look at Ninja - has anyone got My Place Titanium?

We were given two Circulon pans as wedding presents about 12 years - a wok and a large skillet. The frying pan is getting on a bit and eggs are a bit sticky, but I think that’s because I didn’t treat it as well as I should when I first got it.

However the wok is still in immaculate condition. We use it regularly but are careful not to use soap on it - instead jast wipe it with hot water and a cloth, and then dry and put back. And season with hot oil when needed. Also, never put them in a dishwasher! Can throughly recommend them.

I like the scoville pans

CatherinedeBourgh · 17/10/2025 21:42

I was wary of hexclad, as they are expensive and ds is a serial pan destroyer. I bought one and used it for a few months and am now fully converted - I have five! They are not quite like standard nonstick but are pretty much indestructible.

I also have a creuset one which is very good, similar price to hexclad but traditional non stick.

CanadianUKimmigrant · 17/10/2025 22:13

@CatherinedeBourgh
Thank you for your experience, Catherine. I am also very wary of Hexclad (too much hype for me) but am very pleased to hear the pans have been "true to hype" for you.
I just want to not be disappointed (for once) 🙏

Scoville Neverstick were great for a while but then ours started looking very worn and whilst it was still non-stick, nothing like as good as they were when brand new. I was worried about whether we were eating bits of it as well since it seemed to be gradually wearing down. I've recently replaced them with ceramic ones from Procook and so far they are great (they had great reviews too) and ceramic seems a safer option, but I haven't had them long enough to comment on how well they last.

CanadianUKimmigrant · 17/10/2025 22:20

@MedusasHead I've just gone on the Circulon site - they have about 400 different classes of their pans! I'll just start with one and see how it goes...

I'm very pleased with my Ninja. Couple of years and still as good as when I bought it.

CanadianUKimmigrant · 17/10/2025 22:23

25 years is a decent guarantee.
Sigh. It seems there are a lot of good ones - I just hadn't found any of them yet 😄
Thanks all.

I've been using Ninja for a couple of years and have been impressed,I'm actually now growing my collection. Fully recommend.

notsure75 · 19/10/2025 11:38

I bought the Our Place Titanium frying pan. It's okay but is not as non-stick as advertised. The main gripe is that it's quite difficult to wash properly because of the texture, it looks stained even after thorough wash with a brush and Bar Keeper's Friend paste. Because of this I wouldn't recommend it. We don't have a dishwasher, so maybe it works better, I don't know. I tend to use a ceramic coating frying pan for frying eggs bought for fraction of the cost.

Another vote for Ninja. We had Circulon (awful). Then Le Creuset (awful). Ninja has been great.
