We've booked an engineer but was wondering if the cause us a small leak how would it be found , if at all, we top it up to 1.1 but it slowly goes to 0.9 over a couple of weeks prompting the warning coming on to top up.

Its a worcester bosch

The problem is that the leak is quite possibly not in the boiler but in the pipes or radiators. Did you have them replaced as well? These tiny leaks can be very hard to find.

No we didn't replace the pipes. I'm wondering if the engineer would have a leak detector for the pipes perhaps. The radiators were checked recently. It's very frustrating.

have you had a service? Ours used to do that and then would do a really loud whooshing sound like it was going to explode. The condensate pipe was blocked and needed air blasting through it. Same thing happened a year later

Yes it had a service recently but dh didn't mention the low pressure and they just added more water to top it up. But it's only a year old

Ours is only 4YO but last two it’s been doing similar. Are you in a new build? I think it’s the way they connect stuff now

PS clearly not a subject matter expert 🤣

I'm going round trying to find any loose connections but it all looks OK. Not a new build but they put in a few new pipes.

I had this and as to top mine up regularly until I could get an engineer out. Google told me it could be an air lock, a leaky radiator or pipe but it was actually a part of the boiler, I’ve forgotten the babe possibly expansion tank! That a seal had gone and it needed replaced. £250 to get it repaired.

It can be leaking out of the overflow valve (PRV) so the leak can be directly in the boiler and the water going outdoors. It you can find the pipe that leads outside, see if there is any dampness underneath it. I had this, and needed some parts replacing inside the boiler to fix. Much older boiler than yours though, an 10 year + Worcester Bosch.

Our boiler went in the summer. Was over 20 yrs old put in when new heating pipes were put in. We had new pipes, radiators and boiler. We got four quotes and each plumber advised old pipes can't cope with modern boiler pressures and could cause issues.

I can't see an overflow pipe. The flue is straight up out into the roof.

I could understand old pipes but it's identifying where the problem is.
