Two sinks in one kitchen??

okay, so my cooker has to be 9ft away fom my sink in our newly planed kitchen (no other alternative). We're thinking about a small prep sink nearer the cooker...would this be OTT?

It doesn't really matter. If you want it and it will help you, why not?

JennsterSlugSlayer · 03/06/2008 07:59

Not at all. Go for it.

OverMyDeadBody · 03/06/2008 08:12

I think it would be ideal to have a prep sink seperate from the washing up sink!

Am too

My cooker is in my sink, my kitchen is so small. Go for it you lucky so and so

brimfull · 03/06/2008 08:21

if the prep area is right next to said prep sink then a great idea

Anna8888 · 03/06/2008 08:21

Why not if you have the space?

Though personally I like my cooker/oven, sink and dishwasher as close together as possible (and the cupboards for glasses, plates, cutlery etc also right above/next to dishwasher) so that I walk as little as possible.

In a professional kitchen, you would have to have a separate hand-wash sink from your veg prep sink.

And a two washing up sinks or a dishwasher.

So when you look at it like that, two sinks is quite restrained really

thanks all..you've set my mind at rest...how big is a prep sink anyway? or rather how small can it be so as still to be functional?

May be an idea to have the prep sink without a drainer, so that 'stuff' doesn't get dumped!!

spudcounter · 03/06/2008 13:11

that's a good idea
