Experience of Aga ER3

Hi all,

Looking for some advice. If anyone has an Aga ER3 could you let me know your experience of it?

Weve been renovating our house and almost at the stage of getting our new kitchen.

Im looking for an oven that’s about 150 wide and would suit a country/farmhouse style property.

I do love the look of an Aga but I’m a bit concerned about the running costs.

Ive looked at the ER3 and think it could suit us as it’s supposed to offer a lot more control and I’d probably just use the fan oven and induction for mid week meals and then use the other ovens and hot plates during the weekend. I don’t intend to leave it on running all of the time.

if anyone could let me know how they find the oven; what the warm up times are like; is the fan oven large enough to make a mid week family meal; or if anyone can recommend another oven of similar size that would be really helpful!

Thanks all!

You need to ask on the I love my aga Facebook page as there’s lots of people with different types of agas on there

Have a look at Lacanche. Like you, I didn’t need (or want the cost) of an Aga running all the time, but I wanted the option of lots of ovens because I cook a lot. My Lacanche is 180cm and is utterly brilliant, looks great and I can easily cater for 15-20. They do do a 150.
I also have a Rayburn (different house) and I love that too. It’s also the boiler and the ovens can be turned on and off whenever you want, heat up time is around 30 minutes. But when the ovens are on? It makes the room absolutely boiling. Would be great in an old, draughty house, but ours is in an extension, built to new regs. You couldn’t have the ovens on in summer so I have a separate integrated oven for that.

Have you considered an Everhot? They are designed to run on electric so are much more efficient than Agas. They come in lots of different sizes and hob/oven combinations.
I've had mine for a month and I'm totally in love 😊

I second an Everhot - more economical than an Aga, run on electric and are much more controllable. I have used an Everhot (no other cooking facilities) for over 20 years. Before that I used Agas.
