How to clean quartz worktop?

Please share you best products to clean a white quartz worktop.

I find stains set quickly and grease can be hard to remove. I was not expecting it to be tricky, I thought and spray of anti bac and a wipe would do the job, but that’s not the case. I have to use cif on tougher stains but was hoping there was a suitable spray?

We were advised to use nail varnish remover, but I haven’t tried it.

Ours comes up clean with just a very dilute bit of bleach.

what sort of stuff do you tend to get stuck on?

Justanotherdramalama · 04/09/2025 00:42

Hot water and washing up liquid to clean then a buff with a dry cloth.

FairyBatman · 04/09/2025 01:15

Honestly for every day just a spray and wipe with antibac unless doing something really messy. The worst thing I find for leaving stains is tea. You have to wipe up tea straight away.

Once a week spray it with granite cleaner and buff.

Barkeepers Friend is amazing , it will shift anything from quartz. My youngest put a half eaten Solero on our island and stained it bright orange and it got rid of it , curry stains etc , it’s like magic.

We just use hot water and washing up liquid or antibacterial cleaner. Our quartz worktop installers told us not to use Bar Keepers Friend as it’s apparently abrasive and can damage it.

I mix white wine vinegar and water and liquid flash in equal parts and a microfibre cloth. Cleans, degreases and no smears

My husband orders a special spray for quartz

We were told to use Cif on stains. It works well on ours. I just rub in circles if it’s a deeper stain.

VanillaImpulse · 04/09/2025 10:30

Another recommendation for barkeepers friend. It came with our worktops and it’s amazing for limescale marks around the taps and stains but doesn’t scratch

HorrorFan81 · 04/09/2025 10:34

You arent supposed to use the original barkeepers friend on quartz (its too abrasive). They do a quartz version tho. You're not supposed to use anti bac spray either as its too acidic. For day to day cleaning we use soapy water (washing up liquid). Also use Method Granite and Marble cleaner a few times a week

Pink Stuff seems to work well for stubborn stains on mine. I use Method granite and marble spray day to day. It smells lovely! Both were recommended by my fitters.

Barkeepers Friend is brilliant. We’ve had our worktops for two years now and there isn’t a single mark on them thanks to this product. They'd be a mess without it. Think ours is the normal one and it’s fine.

tedibear · 04/09/2025 22:54

Generally just use a Detol spray but if we get a Chinese or Indian and the slightest bit of packaging gets in contact it makes a mess! I then very lightly and sparingly use the pink stuff paste.

TheFlis · 04/09/2025 22:58

What is staining? We have had our quartz for 18 months and I am yet to find anything that doesn’t come off with a damp cloth.

DeedlessIndeed · 05/09/2025 06:56

Dilute bleach for things like tea, berry or turmeric stains.

Bicarb for those annoying stainless steel marks if you scrape something metal on it. Make a poultice, leave and then scrub then rinse.

Maybe perfect white quartz isn't as low maintenance as I'd assumed, but it does make me happy when it is beautifully clean.

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 05/09/2025 06:59

Mine has a shine finish, so no citrus or bleach. Just hot water and anti bac spray. Shine with dry micro fibre cloth

pilates · 05/09/2025 07:02

We were advised by installer to only use diluted fairy liquid.
