silly dp just cooked me a lovely dinner, but got bolognese sauce all over his white jumper.
It was tom passata, onion garlic and some herbs, the jumper is woollen style but 100% cotton can we save it?

that pink spray stuff is good, the quicker you do it the better.

Soak in cold water straight away.

Wash at 40 (check label) with bio liquid /powder(unless label says otherwise)

If you have any vanish etc put some of that on it first.

DO NOT tumble it dry. Dry outside unless tipping it down. DO NOT iron if stain still visible. May need more than one wash, but if you iron or tumble it you will probably set the stain.

pink spray stuff? oxy? vanish?
We have normal oxy apart from that just general household stuff, remember it's 10:30pm on a saturday!

seriously though, squalor, I would try just rubbing laundry soap (or am I the only person who has this archaic household item to hand) or detergent on it and then soaking it in cold water before sticking it in the machine tomorrow.

If my mum was around I'd ask her, she actually owns an ancient 'Book of stains'.

My grandad was fab with laundry (he was widowed - twice - and lived alone for many years)

He would tell you to soak in a solution of bio powder (preferably Ariel) in a bucket overnight, then handwash.

Just adding that as we seem to be passing on words of family wisdom now.

vanish, but if you haven't got any blot it with an ice cube, supposed to work, haven't tried it though.

Squeeze washing up liquid all over the stain, leave for a minute or so, then wash

And if you can hang it out in the sun to dry, that will also help
