What is the best food processor?

I've only ever had cheap ones where the blade has got blunt quite quickly.

I'm getting a new kitchen and would like to treat myself to a really good food processor that will last.

I don't need loads of attachments, but a mini one won't be enough.

I already have a Kitchen Aid mixer - should I go for the Kitchen Aid food processor as well, or is a Magimix better?

Update: MNHQ have now pulled together our current shortlist here - Best food processors UK, which includes top picks, pros/cons and prices checked regularly. We hope it’s helpful! Flowers

Which one did you go for?

I got the 3200 XL - hopefully not too big.

My Magimix motor died after about 5 years - I didn’t replace it - I wasn’t happy with the way it sliced and the liquid went everywhere and leaked with the main bowl. I got a Sage it was better with mincing meat, had a sealed bowl performed better at slicing, but some parts can’t be put in the dishwasher. I’m looking for another one now - this time I want all the pieces to be dishwasher friendly. I’m fed up with labour saving equipment that needs hand washing.

I am hoping to bump this thread and get some more recommendations. Previously had a cuisianrt with all the bells and whistles in terms of attachments but was very bulky to store and difficult to clean. Currently have a small processor bowl with a stick blender. However I would like a small stand alone processor. Use would be for slicing/grating of veg for coleslaw, dauphinoise and maybe making small quantities of pesto etc. No need for dicing, spiralling attachments.

What would you recommend for me/ Is it still magimix? 😂

Edited

Most of the smallest ones only have a chopping blade.

Magimix, however...

Right this does indeed look like what I need @NeverDropYourMooncup one question I cant find the answer too. What size is the feedtube?

NeverDropYourMooncup · 07/09/2025 08:40

No idea, I've got a full size one - try looking for videos on YouTube - but magimix do tend towards a useful or wider feed tube than other brands.

I bought an 8 year old magimix from a lady going into a care home about 15 years ago and it’s still going strong. I love it and if I ever needed to replace I would buy another in a heart beat. It’s heavy as hell but you know when you press that button it means business.
